In less than three weeks, Italian hardcore terrorists Cripple Bastards will disburse the harsh new LP, "Nero In Metastasi," upon the masses via Relapse.
Now you can hear the new song "Nemico A Terra" in the player below, courtesy of Decibel Magazine. The following press release was also issued about the album:
"The band's first full-length release for the label, the eighteen tracks on 'Nero In Metastasi' arguably bear the most 'metal' production in Cripple Bastards' massive discography to date -- an attribute acquired during its construction under the watch of producer Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden (Arch Enemy, At The Gates, Dark Tranquillity) -- without impacting their rabid, unabashed political hardcore energy. A prime example of this is the album's twelfth track, 'Nemico A Terra,' which CB vocalist Giulio The Bastard translates to, 'Enemy Down.'" More...

Mekong Delta will release "In A Mirror Darkly" on April 29th, 2014 in North America via SPV/Steamhammer. The label comments:
"For almost thirty years, Mekong Delta has enjoyed an excellent reputation as an independent and exceptionally creative band in the world of progressive metal sounds. Albums such as The Music Of Eric Zann (1988) and Pictures At An Exhibition (1997) are considered classics of their kind.
"With their blend of prog metal, classical elements and thrash, the musicians are considered pioneers of a stylistic mix, which has been emulated, by a considerable number of epigones. Now the German quartet is set to unleash its latest recording: In A Mirror Darkly will be released April 29th via SPV/Steamhammer.
"Martin LeMar (vocals), Ralf Hubert (bass), Erik Adam H. Grösch (guitar) and Alex Landenburg (drums) have recorded a total of eight songs for In A Mirror Darkly, among them three instrumental numbers like the ingenious 'Inside The Outside Of The Inside' with its diverse arrangements." More...

Moribund Records has set April 14th as the release date for Wormreich's "Wormcult Revelations." The following press release was issued about the band:
"Rising from the ashes of the late, great Blood Stained Dusk comes USBM's most promising sonic sorcerers, Wormreich. The band's second album to date and first for Moribund Records, Wormcult Revelations displays a black metal band both forward-thinking and classicist, balancing an oft-dissonant and complex form of challenging, spiraling songcraft with a widescreen, cinematic scope that underlines a deep understanding of ancient black metal values.
"Rounded out by a clear, nuanced production, Wormcult Revelations will soon have Wormreich mentioned in the same breath as the esteemed likes of Nightbringer and Deathspell Omega, whom Wormreich cover with 'Malign Paradigm.'"
The track listing is as follows:
I. Revelation I: Vox in Rama 2:30
II. Revelation II: Serpents of Choronzon 7:06
III. Shaare-Maveth 1:57
IV. Revelation III: Devotion’s Final War 7:15
V. Revelation IV: Enim Satanas Meum Sanguinem 7:25
VI. Codex Lvciferivm 5:08
VII. Malign Paradigm [Deathspell Omega cover] 4:45
Comments the band: "Wormreich was created with the sole purpose of channeling the timeless void that will one day consume the universe and return all of creation to a state of pure, undefiled chaos. We emerged from the Bible Belt of the United States, with Satan as our champion and idol, and we create menacing, violent, ethereal black metal art. Nothing more, nothing less. Our war is a holy war, and our devotion is endless!" More...

"We shot the video on three different days with the direction of Elio Di Pace and Vittorio 'Kufa' Citro, in various locations of our area, a friend's house, the University of Salerno, both my houses and down the street. More than fifty friends and local fans kindly offered their help, showing up for some of the scenes. The plot is inherent to the lyrics of the song and it deals with the love story between the two main characters. They've just broken up, but they both accidentally come to our concert and make up with a kiss."
The "Perseverance" album is due to be released via My Kingdom Music on February 24th, 2014. More...

As previously announced, seminal Swedish metallers At The Gates are proud to announce their return to the studio to record the long-awaited follow-up to 1995's "Slaughter Of The Soul."
Due to be released worldwide via Century Media Records in late 2014, this new album, "At War With Reality," features the band's classic lineup from the "Slaughter Of The Soul" era.
Decibel Magazine has now conducted an interview about the album with At The Gates' Tomas Lindberg (vocals). Read the full interview at this location, and excerpts follow.
Decibel: Most people might be expecting the new material to be in the vein of Slaughter of the Soul, but are there any plans to showcase the more angular and progressive influences of the first ATG EP, Gardens of Grief, and first two studio albums as well?
As I said we have gone beyond the idea of making “Slaughter of the Soul Pt. 2,” which was actually never the idea to start with. This is an album that is so full on conceptually and creatively, so involved and ambitious that I am almost compelled to call it pretentious. And that brings me back to the feeling that was with us when we were creating With Fear I Kiss the Burning Darkness. I’m not saying that this album sounds like that album, but it has that burning urge, the sense of importance that album is trying to portray. As I have always stated, we are an honest band, a band that is very focused on being true to ourselves and never follow any trends or try to portray a given perception of what people want us to be. What we decided on was really to let the music take us where it had to go, to go “all in” so to say. To answer your question, the record will be filled with a lot of the Slayer worship and riffage that is Slaughter of the Soul, but people will also recognize the more dark, melodic side that was With Fear I Kiss the Burning Darkness, and maybe some of the more pretentious arrangements that was part of our early career.
Decibel: The bar for “death metal comebacks” is now Surgical Steel. Is At the Gates prepared to meet that? Not to mention the legacy of Slaughter of the Soul? More...

Norwegian progressive metal quintet Frail Grounds recently signed a deal with U.K. based indie label Hostile Media to see the release of the band's debut album "The Fields Of Trauma."
Mixed by Øyvind Larsen (Lionheart Studios) and mastered by acclaimed producer Jens Bogren (Fascination Street Studios) "The Fields Of Trauma" was originally self-released by the band in 2012. This release sees the record getting proper distribution for the first time on March 3rd, 2014.
Vocalist Morten Andre comments, "We are very excited to be presenting 'The Fields of Trauma' to the UK metalheads and beyond. The album took a long time to finish, but listening to it now we are confident it was worth the effort and time. There are so many details in between the musical layers; hopefully you will hear something new every time you listen to it. This musical endeavour is wrapped up by a faustian inspired conceptual horror story, which fits well with the musical theme. Enjoy!
"First time listeners, expect a chilling musical journey leading you through acoustic melancholic moments and into more brutal epics! Throughout this trip you will be treated with lots of melodies, guitar solos, heavy riffing and complexity leading up to the grand finale, the emberstorm!" More...

Swedish grindcore powerhouse Gadget has entered the studio to record a third full-length LP and follow-up to 2006's "The Funeral March."
The band is currently holed up in drummer William Blackmon's The Overlook Studios self-recording and producing Gadget's first new material since a 2010 split with Phobia. Relapse Records comments:
"Guaranteed to be 100% true grindcore, the 18 songs were written sporadically since 2009, with the majority of new material manifesting in 2013. An autumn 2014 release via Relapse Records is expected. Pics and updates on the recording process can be found via the band's official site here."
Guitarist Rikard Olsson commented: "Since it was so long ago we did an album it still feels weird and kind of unreal! It's early to exactly say what the outcome will be like but it's still the same four guys in the band, so it will be Gadget for sure. Perhaps a slightly more 'old school' approach to the songwriting (comes with age I guess...), but we still have our death and doomy sludge parts thrown in the grinder!"
William added: "It's definitely more 'in your face' on this album - less death metal influenced, more old school grindcore. Plus the mandatory doom parts, as Rikard mentioned."
