Azarath has unveiled the cover artwork for their upcoming album "Praise The Beast" at their official MySpace page. The band has also issued the following statement about the album:
"Azarath recorded all tracks and started the album mixing process. Ataman Tolovy finished front cover artwork.

Belgian black metal act Enthroned has announced that they will name their new studio album, "Pentagrammaton." The album will be released through Regain Records later this year. More details on the album will be revealed as soon as they are announced.
Enslaved guitarist Ivar Bjørnson has checked in with the following report regarding the bands direct support slot to Opeth on their North American tour this summer. The statement reads as follows: "I am stoked that we are going out with Opeth. We have been admirers of Opeth's work for years, specially the direction of their newer works. This is great news for us to take back to our loyal fans and friends in North America at this point; the reception for our newest album Vertebrae has been fantastic and unforgettable. We can't wait to present the songs live; we promise you won't be let down! Finally, we wish to express our sincere gratitude to Opeth for giving us this opportunity."
Metallica has been confirmed as one of the headlining acts for this years edition of the Belgian festival, Rock Werchter. A statement from the band reads as follows: "We're also heading back to Rock Werchter in Belgium on Sunday, July 5th. Tickets will go onsale on Saturday, February 14th at 9 AM local time (12 AM - PST) via www.rockwerchter.be and www.proximusgoformusic.be. For more details, click here."
Powerman 5000 has posted a three track medley of new music on their official Myspace. The songs in included in the medley are "Supervillain," "V Is For Vampire" and "Horror Show." You can hear the medley by clicking here. The songs will be featured on Powerman 5000's forthcoming new studio album.
New Wave Of British Heavy Metal legends Tygers Of Pan Tang has announced that they will perform in Poland for the first time on September 26th at the Har Rocker Festival, which takes place at the Rudeboy Club in Bielsko-Biala.
The band states: "It is a great honour for the band to play in Poland as we get a lot of requests from our fans to visit and we cannot wait to play for you guys. We will announce more details of the event over the next week or so."
Kristopher "Kristov" Kemp, drummer and a founder of Chicago's very own MARAZENE has passed away due to complications with his fight with cancer.
Kristov's friend and bandmate DieTrich Thrall wrote an impromptu obituary which has been posted on the band's Myspace page and the text of which follows:
"On Monday, January 26th, Kristopher Kemp passed away due to complications from his fight against cancer. He was 34.

Gary, Vocalist of 80s epic thrash metal band, Maelstrom, has issued the following update:
"Our full EP 'It Was Predestined' is available via Itunes and several other premium Digital services. CKY has entered the mixing stage of their forthcoming new studio album, "Carver City." The album will be released via Roadrunner Records on May 19th and was produced by the bands guitarist Chad I Ginsburg. Lead singer Derron Miller states: "Literally all the things that have been keeping CKY strong since our last album - the undying hardcore support of our fans, our unorthodox musical approach and a brand new partnership with Roadrunner Records - have restored an enthusiasm within our band that has never been this extreme. Sobriety, hard work, patching up inner turmoil and a love for what we do has undoubtedly made this the most collaborative and focused CKY effort to date."
Daath has announced that, although they are signed to Roadrunner Records, their forthcoming new studio album, "The Concealers" will be released through Century Media Records. The album will be released on April 20th in Europe and April 21st in North America.
The band states: "We mutually agreed that CM would be much more appropriate for the band at this stage, but that nobody felt like it was time to end the relationship with Roadrunner, so we worked out a deal where Roadrunner still makes our records, but CM works them."
German heavy metallers Wolfchant has announced that they will release their new studio album, "Determined Damnation" on April 24th via Massacre Records. A message from the band reads as follows: "Since our last update many things happened! Drums and keys are recorded and currently Skaahl, Derrmorh and Bahznar are in studio to record the guitars and bass.
"We are more than satisfied with the current state and the cooperation with Uwe. The artwork is in a finale stadium and we think it is one of the best artworks Kris has done yet.
"Also we weren't lazy concerning live gigs. We are proud to announce our first tour named Determined Damnation which will bring us to Ireland and the UK for the first time. Thanks to the WAYLANDER clan and especially Ciaran who made this happen." More...
Czech Republic based black metal outfit Inferno has revealed that they are finishing up the recording of their brand new studio album, "Black Devotion." Band member Adramelech says: "It is with no doubt our best album to date."
Swedish heavy metal act Arch Enemy will be embarking on a tour of South America this April. Vocalist Angela Gossow states: "I still vividly remember our Latin America tour in the beginning of 2007. It was very inspiring to dip into this new and exciting territory! We have only visited Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Mexico so far – I am thrilled to set foot into Venezuela and Colombia for the very first time on this run! I’ve heard a lot about these places and their passionate metal fans – but it’s a whole different story to actually go there, see and feel it myself. We are more than ready for this adventure and will bring a set of killer tunes with us! Beware The Beasts Of Men: These shows are going to be absolutely insane!!!"

It has been announced that the newly released “Shout” video from BLACK TIDE will be featured on mtvU’s new artist show, "The Freshman." The show spotlights emerging artists both on air and online, with a chance for one of the competing videos to get an automatic add into rotation on the channel the following week.
On the strength of their debut album, "Light From Above," BLACK TIDE has been voted “Best New Artist” from several media outlets including Guitar World, Kerrang!, and TheGauntlet.com.
BLACK TIDE is currently overseas in the UK touring with Bring Me The Horizon, Mindless Self Indulgence and others. The band will return home in February to kick off a US tour with Escape The Fate. BLACK TIDE will also be a main stage performer all summer long on Warped Tour 2009.

Metal Injection has posted an exclusive video premiere of the new video from Montreal technical death veterans NEURAXIS. The video is for "Darkness Prevails" and was filmed with director Chris Alsop last fall.
NJ death metallers, The Binary Code, have announced that they have completed their new record. The band has written a blog explaining the new record and the process of how it came to be.

Ohio metalcore band, Kill What I Adore, has issued the following update on their MySpace page:

Canadian black metal band, Empyrean Plague, has announced the release of their second full length album, entitled "Ancestral Embers Shall Burn." The album will be released on March 1st through Archaic North Entertainment. The album was recorded at Sardonic Moon Studios in Sudbury, Ontario to provide a more refined sound.
Mark Howitt, owner of Archaic North Entertainment comments, "I have always been a fan, so it is great to have Empyrean Plague as a part of our roster. We believe this album to be monumental and are looking forward to some upcoming tours to promote the album."
Canadian death metal band, Cephalectomy has decided to release their upcoming album "An Epitaph To Tranquility" a free download. The album will be available at this website when completed in the spring.
The band comments on their decision, "Instead of sinking money into cds, which they feel is a dying format, Cephalectomy will put those funds towards other merchandise like shirts, patches, etc. The band, however, realizes there's people who would rather an actual cd and for those people, the option to pre-order the album is now available. If you must own a hard copy of this album, you're advised to pre-order to secure yours. There will be a few copies printed otherwise, but these will be first come first serve and some will be reserved for promos, therefore leaving very few copies for actual sale."
Paris, France-based black metallers, GLORIOR BELLI, have issued the following update:
"The French purveyors of Luciferian illumination will soon enter the studio to record their new full-length called 'Meet Us At The Southern Sign,' to be released in 2009 via Candlelight Records worldwide. This new effort comprises of eleven tracks — every note of which adores and glorifies the name of Lucifer: Bringer of the Forbidden Light. GLORIOR BELLI will impose itself upon the intoxicated scene of blinding and false prophets. None shall prevent the flame from burning ever bright; none shall interfere with the wrath of the Beast!"

Members of Ontario extreme metallers, Elevator 22,
(www.myspace.com/elevator22) have formed a side project entitled "That Boy Ain't Right" featuring Curtis Smythe on guitar/vocals and Mike Durham on drums.

Pulling Teeth has posted a new song, "Foreshadowing," from their upcoming album on their MySpace player. "Paranoid Delusions | Paradise Illusions" is the latest work from Baltimore hardcore mainstays, Pulling Teeth. Painstakingly recorded and engineered by Chris Camden at Ultrasound over a three month period, "Paranoid Delusions | Paradise Illusions" is a conceptual piece of immense artistic depth and darkness.
VENIA is currently in the studio recording their forthcoming album for Blood & Ink Records, due out this summer. The band has been documenting this experience on the newly relaunched AMP Magazine website via a studio blog. Check it out to keep tabs on their daily progress working on their new album.
