Iowa act Dead Horse Trauma will release new album "Vi-Ops" on April 20th, 2013. "Vi-Ops" will be independently released via 660 Records and distributed by THC: MUSIC via Ingrooves/Fontana. The album was recorded at 660 Studios inside the band's native Des Moines with producers Donnie Mengwasser (Curse of Hail, Mindrite, The Boston Hellmask) and Ari Mihalopoulos (Destrophy and Otep) at the helm.
Dead Horse Trauma is sharing a free download of "Vi-Ops" track "Coercion," at this location, giving listeners a sneak peak at the band's evolution since previous release, 2011’s "Tellus Hodiernus Caducus" (reviewed here).
The bands second full-length album, "THC," debuted at #6 on CMJ’s “Most Added” chart, and has received national airplay through college and commercial stations nationwide. Sold nationwide by the Hot Topic chain, the first single “Disbelief” featured Myke Terry (of Bury Your Dead fame).
Recorded in late 2012, "Vi-Ops" takes Dead Horse Trauma to a new level of creativity and overall sound. The band states, “We’ve worked harder than ever and the results are obvious that this will be our best release to date; all killer and no filler. Six songs that are going to grab you and move you, whether its emotionally or physically. This release has bigger riffs, bigger vocals, and an overall highly polished and original sound.” More...

Hungarian industrial/metal band Zone63 recorded the band's first video for the "Shadows of the Past" at the end of November, 2012. The video is now available and can be viewed below. Guitarist Jeno Spitzer comments on the new video:
"The band members believe that we’ve managed to produce quality debut material which will be followed by first album, ’Desires.’ The disc that contains 10 songs will be available from various sources.
"Then we’re planning to announce a smaller tour to introduce the genre we represent to the Hungarian audience, as industrial metal isn’t that well-known in our country yet. We’ve been influenced by bands like Rammstein, Fear Factory, Megaherz, Eisbrecher, and Hanzel und Gretyl.
"The music video produced in association with TRENDERfilm production agency was shot by Zoltán Végh and edited by Emese Májer. We are thankful for them for their professional help with the shooting and post-production. Special thanks to the female main character Évi Balázs, who also helped us a lot throughout the shooting." Ohio act Winterhymn has checked in with the following announcement about splitting with the band's bassist and drummer:
"After much discussion and debate, Sieven and Warg have decided to part ways with the fellowship of Winterhymn to pursue other conquests and we wish them the best of luck.
"Our loyal legions can rest assured that Winterhymn IS continuing to move forward with Ulfr, Draug, Exura, and Umbriel at the helm and that we are hard at work writing more material for the next release which we can’t wait to share with you!
"This means that we will also be looking to bring on a new drummer and bassist! If you are interested or if you have any recommendations for us, please message this page or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are seeking talented, hardworking, loyal, career-minded individuals, ideally who reside in reasonable proximity to the Cincinnati area, who have some experience with live music performance, their own gear, who can travel and perform with us on weekends and summers, and who can stand their ground in the face of Draug’s formidable armor-stench and Umbriel’s drinking challenges.
"We would also like to note that, at this time, we still have every intention of playing Heathen Crusade Festival this year!" More...

Glass Cloud is currently on tour with Silverstein, and the band has now checked in with the following statement about missing the Chicago stop of the tour:
"What up, everybody. I just want to take a minute to say on behalf of the whole band that we are terribly sorry we couldn't play last night in Chicago.
"On the way to our first show with Silverstein in Pontiac, MI, our wheel snapped off of our axle on our van and we had to leave it in Ohio at a repair shop while we threw all of our equipment (and ourselves) in the back of a rental box truck and hauled ass to the show. We made it with just enough time to run in, play our set and immediately back track to Ohio to pick our vehicle and try to make it to Chicago in time. But, unfortunately, we didn't.
"I'd like to say thank you so much to all the dedicated friends who came to hang out with us and picked up some merch at the end of the night anyway. after our amazing experience at the House of Blues on the AP Tour, we were all really excited to play Chicago and were incredibly bummed that we weren't able to. we will do everything in our power to make it up to you all as SOON as it's possible.
"We hope to see the rest of you out at the rest of these upcoming shows! Peace and Light to The Royal Thousand. We see you."
Remaining dates on the tour can be found at the Glass Cloud Facebook profile here.
Currently serving a year of county jail while awaiting trial, or 'preventive prison' as it's deemed in the Dominican Republic, one of the accused murderers of Exsanguination Throne drummer Jose Carlos 'Shiva' Hernandez recently showed his fringe benefits while in custody. Jorge 'La Maldad' Mancebo uploaded photos to his Facebook page in a sign of hubris, demonstrating that he not only has a cellphone but a tattooing gun behind bars. The uncle of Shiva, Tito Hernandez, had the following to say (translated to English):
"This is indignant, offensive and hurtful. One of the murderers of my nephew Jose Carlos and leader of the gang of thugs 'Los Mega Metal' uploaded a Facebook photo from the Najayo Correctional Center, essentially laughing at authorities and the suffering of our family." Tito Hernandez has brought this to the attention of two politicians, Francisco Domínguez Brito and Yeni Berenice Reynoso, so that this matter can be investigated.
Jorge 'La Maldad' Mancebo is currently joined behind bars by the other accused perpetrator of the killing of Jose Carlos Hernandez, Frank 'La Yarda' Matos. A third suspect, Argenis 'Prototipo' Batista, remains at large. Jose Carlos 'Shiva' Hernandez was bludgeoned and stabbed 27 times outside of a Santo Domingo nightclub last September, sadly when he was back on vacation from living in Argentina with the rest of the band.
FireHouse was the REO Speedwagon of glam rock. They looked and were categorized as hard rock and heavy metal, but deep down they just wanted to play and sing ballads across the world. Two VERY interesting facts: First, FireHouse won the 1992 American Music Award for favorite new Heavy Metal/Hard Rock artist. They were chosen over Nirvana and Alice and Chains. Secondly, did you know they have sold over seven million albums? Now every band wishes they were the REO Speedwagon of glam rock. More...
