Pit Stories: Stage Invasion Of The Nipple Rubbers

Every week in Pit Stories, a band or musician tells us some of their most wild memories from shows they've performed or attended. This week, Koen ‘Vuurdichter’ Romeijn of Dutch folk metal band Heidevolk tells us of a show in Birmingham that was dangerously full and walking in on the promoter in the midst of a Silence of the Lambs routine:

"To be honest, in this so called ‘Folk & Pagan metalscene’ where we operate, most Pit
Stories tend to end with a smile. You simply cannot compare it to, let’s say, a mosh pit at a
Slayer concert. Now I’m not saying there aren’t any brutal moshpits at our shows, because
that couldn’t be farther from the truth. There’s always a lot of movement going on in the
crowd at our shows, but it tends to be more of a ‘drinking dance’, a celebration if you will,
with people clattering drinking horns and cheering along our tunes.

"But since this item is called ‘Pit Stories’, I will give you a more genuine one.
Back in 2003 I was on tour in the UK with Detonation, a melodic Death metal band. This
particular tour was as ‘underground’ as they get. Tiny van, small stages in shitty venues,
poor turnouts, sleeping on peoples floors after the gig because we couldn’t afford hotels. The
works. But awesome, nevertheless. More...

Ministry Frontman Makes 2018 Predictions

Ministry frontman Al Jourgensen has been featured in a new video, wherein he makes predictions for the new year. For 2018, Jourgensen forecasts giant political upheaval and geopolitical stress which has been set up in 2017 by the "orange shitgibbon" himself. According to Jourgensen, 2016 and 2017 were similar to having a puss-filled boil or pimple on the country. "We have to get 2017 and 2016 off of us," he states, "and 2018 is going to be the popping of the pimple. It's going to be a rough year, but it's going to be a necessary year for the progression of the human race.

"The majority should rule the democracy and right now, the majority does not rule."

Also happening in 2018 will be Ministry's new album, "AmeriKKKant," the psychedelic, politically influenced album rooted in Jourgensen's unadulterated anger for what's happening in America today. (March 9, Nuclear Blast Records.) More...

We have all moved on to new horizons. Thank you for showing up over all those years, thank you for the support, the headbangs and of course the hangovers! You are family. Grind on.

Marilyn Manson Explains Firing Of Bassist Twiggy

Marilyn Manson tells Kerrang! regarding his firing of Jeordie “Twiggy Ramirez” White from the band:

"I did not divorce Twiggy as a friend or brother, because I still care about him greatly. But I can’t say that my musical relationship with Twiggy has been good for several years. My relationship with Tyler Bates on ‘The Pale Emperor‘ made something open up in me and I didn’t want to let negative energy back in my life.

There were other people in my life that I thought were my friends that I had to cut out this year, a lot of betrayals that surprised me, and I had to clean house and adopt and new attitude. People mistook my kindness and generosity for weakness. So I kinda adapted this attitude, like, ‘If you fuck with me, there will be consequences.’ I have issues with intimacy. That might sound weird given that we’re lying in bed together, but y’know…"
