Pennsylvania's Beyond Fallen has issued the following update about recruiting a new guitarist:
"Beyond Fallen is pleased to announce our newest member of the band - guitarist Butch Frable! Butch comes to the band with a ton of experience, and talent. He's a perfect fit for the band, and is currently writing new material for the next Beyond Fallen release. Let's all extend a big heavy metal welcome to Butch as he becomes part of the Beyond Fallen family and joins us on our next journey as a band. Here's a quick note from Butch below...
"When I was approached by the guys about the possibility of an opening in Beyond Fallen for me, I jumped at the chance, and immediately said 'I would be HONORED', and without hesitation I said yes... Beyond Fallen to me is the pinnacle of what metal is, and should be, honest, real, powerful music... no BS, no autotune, no sellout... Just real metal, made by real people...
"About Me... I guess you can say I am an experienced guitarist, I have played in way too many cover bands in NEPA, and have had the occasion to play alongside Joe in his band Anger Reign for a stint... I am most known as the former guitarist for, Graphic Violence, a PA thrash metal powerhouse, that was produced by Overkill, and Anthrax producer, Carl Canedy... I am also one half of the black metal recording act, Existentialism... More...
German metallers Destruction have issued the following statement about their recently canceled tour dates in Australia:
"Australian cancellation by the promoter! As we did get some nasty letters & silly fuck you statements, here is the e-mail of Nik from Just Say Rock that proofs that the band never canceled the tour. It was JSR that stopped the whole OZ tour:
"Quote e-mail from: firstname.lastname@example.org Betreff: TERRIBLE NEWS/DECISION Datum: 19. November 2009 05:58:22 MEZ An: email@example.com
"'Hi Joerg/Schmier It is with my deepest sorrow and regret that I have to inform all at Twisted Talent and Destruction that the Board and owners of Just Say Rock have made a tough decision. Due to a drastic slow down of sales for Screamfest Australia and excessive poor sales for the Destruction side shows; The board of Just Say Rock cannot afford to bring Destruction down to Australia for the festival and other shows. I literally fought tooth and nail and tried everything in order to persuade them not to make this decision. However, I am not the owner and I do not fund the company, which was pointed out to me. "2009 has been a good year for Einherjer. We did some great festivals with Wacken Open Air as the definitive highlight. We got great response and we had a great time. We also spent most of 2009 to write new material and now it's time to bring to the production to the next phase. The last Einherjer album was Blot, released by Tabu Recordings in 2003."

Dutch metallers Cirrha Niva have issued the following year end update:
"We would like to wish you all a Happy New Year and a rocking 2010. A lot has happened in 2009, of course the release of our latest album ‘For Moments Never Done’ in September, for which we have received nothing but very good reviews all over the world. In October we played our very first acoustic gig in Belgium, which we enjoyed so much that we decided to do this more often. Also were we invited at ‘Aardschok Kink FM’ on national radio, we played live on the air.
"Drummer Tommy White started having health problems, which forced the band to look for a temporary replacement for the last two live shows in 2009. Eelco van der Meer from the band ‘Ethereal’ occupied the drum seat and did a marvelous job. Although still not fully recovered, Tommy is hoping to be able to play with the band again very soon. We have started writing new songs as we do not want to wait another 8 years to release an album. It is too early to tell anything about them yet but we have a lot of ideas, which we hopefully can turn into great songs."

German metallers Jack Slater have issued the following update about parting ways with their guitarist and drummer:
"With the new year getting started, it's time to present you some line-up changes for 2010. We wouldn't be Jack Slater if we wouldn't mix it up a little now and then, now would we? The mercenary year for Robert, one of our guitarist, is over. He joined Jack Slater a year ago, but he said from the beginning it won't be forever. He works a lot and doesn't have the time to play in Jack Slater and his other two bands, so he helped us out in 2009, and we are very thankful for that. Robert is a really nice guy with a tremendous talent as a guitarist. We are very happy to have played a year with him and he had a great impact on our soon to be released 4th album 'Extinction Aftermath.' In the future he will however join us for some concerts here and there, but not every single one. So he is not gone forever, but will not be present every time you see Jack Slater live on stage. Right now we are not looking for someone to replace him. However, if you feel like you would be a perfect fit, you can apply, maybe you will change our mind on that topic?
"David, our drummer, is moving to Berlin right now to follow his girlfriend over there. You can't challenge love, so there is no point in trying to make him stay, hehe. This young talented drummer will sure mix up the berlin music scene quite a bit, so look out for this charming drum machine. He will play his last two concerts with Jack Slater in Leipzig and on the Winternachtstraum Festival 2010 in February. More...
Japanese metallers Sigh have issued the following year end recap:
"2009 was a good year for us. We spent most of the time on the new album 'Scenes from Hell' and I guess it's worth it. The appearance at MDF in May was a great experience for sure. 2010 is going to be even more killer. 'Scenes from Hell' will be finally unleashed on Jan. 19th via The End Records. Also 'Infidel Art' triple-gatefold LP and 'Ghastly Funeral Theatre' LP will be out any time soon via The Crypt.
"Later 2010, 'Scorn Defeat' quadruple (!) LP and 'Hail Horror Hail' LP will be released also via The Crypt, and hopefully a few more re-release news can be given out soon. Our first show in Japan in 2 years will be held on March 20th with Genocide, Abigail and Eternal Elysium. The appearance for Brutal Assault in Czech republic in August is already announced, and I believe we can announce a few more European dates soon. May 2010 be the great year for both you and us."
