Zakk Wylde makes a guest appearance on "Californication" this Sunday, January 16th. Tune in to SHOWTIME at 9:00PM, ET/PT to witness Wylde make his premium cable acting debut. "Californication" stars David Duchovny in his Golden Globe®-winning role as hedonistic novelist Hank Moody who struggles to raise his teenage daughter Becca (Madeleine Martin), while still carrying a torch for his ex-girlfriend Karen (Natascha McElhone). Zakk Wylde is no stranger to acting, having appeared in the 2001 film, "Rock Star" with Mark Wahlberg, and more recently in the independent film, "Bones."
After a well-documented time of trials and tribulations, 2010 was a good year for Zakk Wylde and his Black Label Society. Early in the year, Wylde received the "Best Guitarist" Award at the Revolver 2010 Golden God Awards Presented By Epiphone. In August, the first new Black Label Society album in four years was released. "Order of the Black" (Entertainment One Music) debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart, while Wylde graced the covers of both Revolver and Guitar World.

Cam Pipes from 3 Inches Of Blood shared his thoughts on the band's upcoming tour with Eluveitie:
"This is gonna be an interesting tour for us. We’re used to being on tours with metalcore/screamo bands and we stick out like a sore thumb. This tour, I think we’ll share more musical similarities with the other bands and therefore will be playing to a more like-minded crowd. At the same time, each band brings something unique to the tour. I’m predicting all the bands will get along famously. This should be a treat for our fans too ‘cause they’ll be seeing us with styles of bands that we aren’t mached up with too often!"
Eluveitie also commented:
"Thank you Cam Pipes, and we agree: This is going to be a blast. We’d like to add for anyone thinking the package is a little weird: If you’ve ever seen any of the bands live imagine that energy times four and you know what to expect on this tour and why it fits just right." More...

Guitarist Anders Bertilsson of Coldworker has issued the following update about the band's current recording process:
"This time around we're recording guitars using my Peavey 5150 amp, as well as a line signal. I think it'll turn out great, but it's hard work! We've been doing evening shifts all week, as well as two full day shifts. We've still got four songs to go, but at least we're making good progress. Recording really puts your playing skills to the test, and most of time it kicks your self confidence to the gutter. I feel that my playing is at its best when we play live, and adrenaline kicks in. I'm actually not that much of a fan of the recording process. I use a Jackson WRXT for the recording of this album. Jackson guitars is the way to go, and the fact that I'm not using a USA made Jackson should prove that they're solid. More to come, some videoclips and additional pictures. I should probably add that I'm stoked to hear the final result, and I think it'll turn out to be a solid record!"
Daniel Schröder also commented:
"As Anders mentioned, we've been tracking 10 out of 14 songs this week and following is a list of what songs we managed to complete each day:
Day 1, Monday Jan 3 - The Walls of Eryx
Day 2, Tuesday Jan 4 - Monochrome Existence
Day 3, Wednesday Jan 5 - Flesh World
Day 4, Thursday Jan 6 - The Phantom Carriage, Living is Suffering and Violent Society.
Day 5, Friday Jan 7 - Murderous
Day 6, Saturday Jan 8 - Day off
Day 7, Sunday Jan 9 - Becoming the Stench, The Reprobate and the cover for the Japanese edition. More...

After announcing the departure of drummer Olle Töpe, Sweden's One Without has issued the following update about recruiting a new member:
"We are very glad to announce that we have found our new drummer. His name is Joseph Astorga, from Gothenburg, Sweden. Some of you might recognize him from his other band Minora and from his former band Despite. Aside from these bands he has also played in a number of other great bands throughout the years.
"Joseph has been a good friend of ours throughout the years and we couldn't be happier that he is the one to fill the position as drummer in One Without. He is without exaggerating a very talented and creative drummer and will no doubt help us achieve all we aim for and more."
Joseph also commented: "I am really excited about joining my good friends in One Without.
When Kenny first asked me to try out I wasn't 100% convinced to be honest. I didn't know if I would fit in with One Without and their kind of music. But when we sat down in the rehearsal studio, listening to their new material and started beating the drums I really felt a combination of adrenaline and awesome tunes flowing through my ears, it was awesome!
"Their commitment to the band and fighting spirit really inspire me to develop and grow as a drummer. And I'm looking forward to an awesome time in One Without and I hope I can help them take their sound to the next level! Peace out!"

Polish death metal veterans Vader have posted the following update online;
"The band is about to prepare for recording of the newest studio album 'Welcome To The Morbid Reich.' For a long time I've been thinking about new tracks and the album concept; more and more things start to be clear. For the most part I'd like Spider (Marek Pajak - guitars) to take part in the process of album creation. I also have in mind relating to the good old times with a new layout for the album. I met with Zbyszek Bielak, a very talented artist, who will design the new layout, merchandise and scenic elements. Zbyszek has already worked with such bands as Watain, Absu, Behemoth... The new album will mainly focus on the Morbid Reich feeling combined with brutal riffs and tempo of the previous albums. We also have a surprise for our devoted fans, we're going to come back to our old logo."
"Draft titles of a few tracks: 'Lords of Thorns,' 'I Am Who Feast Upon Your Souls,' 'Only Hell Knows,' 'Return to the Morbid Reich,' and 'I Had A Dream.' We will have a chance to listen to 1 or 2 tracks on Vader concerts and summer festivals, as Peter announced. This year's Blitzkrieg will start a bit later, probably in October and Vader will play a completely new set!"
Recording will take place in Hertz Studio in Bialystok, Poland from March 15th to April 10th, 2011 with mixing and mastering set to take place in May, 2011.
"The Human Romance," the new album from Washington D.C. metal act Darkest Hour, will be released in Europe on March 7 through Century Media Records. The new album, which will be issued in North America on February 22 through eOne Music, was recorded at a North Carolina studio with producer Peter Wichers.
Darkest Hour guitarist Mike Schleibaum commented by saying:
"We have been working on these tunes ever since we left the studio last April. 'The Eternal Return' was written during a very dark, bleak time for the band and I think that record matches that in both tone and character. Our vision was for it to be an in-your-face, no-frills aggressive assault. The new material shares in that aggression and pushes Darkest Hour beyond the unknown."
