Less than two days ago, BeyondTotalAnarchy was created by Ex-Megadeth guitarist, Jeff Young and a collective of artists, music fans and web designers. When talking to Jeff Young, he explained to me it was more than just music; it was about initiating global connectivity between artists, fans, media and anyone curious about music and the impact it has on life in general. Kind of like in the era of the "Political Machine," during the days of President Teddy Roosevelt and Taft, this forum was made in a sense to unite. To fight "Bob," or in this case the big labels. Opeth front man Mikael Akerfeldt has issued the following update about appearing at the NAMM convention and designing a signature guitar with PRS Guitars:
"Hello! It's been a while huh? Merry Christmas & a happy new year and whatever. I survived! Did you? I'm not gonna ramble as much as I usually do cause this time I actually have an agenda...something IMPORTANT I wanna tell you about! Here goes: Tits! I love them!
"Secondly: I have my own signature guitar coming out!!! I will be at NAMM in a few days introducing it + it looks like me and Fred might do some type of session as well where we go through a few licks and pretend like we could actually ‘teach’ you something. Might be fun, but there's a risk it might be completely un-fun too (cause I'm gonna be nervous!). I'll just talk shit and Fred can show some licks. Deal?
"Anyways, if you like guitars (which I know you do) I just wanna brief you on what my own signature guitar will be like. Kinda...I haven't played it yet myself but designed it from scratch together with the lovely development team at PRS guitars. I based the whole design around the red Modern Eagle custom 24 that I used here and there in the ‘Roundhouse tapes’ DVD. It's also the one that we used for pretty much all the solos on the ‘Watershed’ record, and the only guitar I've ever brought to our producer Jens Bogren that he liked. Yes, it's fucking amazing and the best guitar in my collection without a doubt. More...

"Also, we finally have an official Facebook: click on the fucking link and add us as friends, we’ll post news and stuff there too. Moreover, the new Sybreed’s website is under construction and should be soon on-line. "Hey Dudes! Thanks for joining Sonic Syndicate in the studio! We are now on day two, but don't worry we've had the cameras rolling non-stop since we arrived and I'm going to give you an update on what happened yesterday!
"DAY 1 - 'MAKING A MONSTER!' We loaded up our bus with gear until it was bursting and made our way to Bohus Sound Studios in Kungälv, Sweden early Monday morning (famed for recording music giants Europe, Abba amongst others). When got to the studio we went to work straight away as John, our drum technician and the legendary US producer Toby Wright (Kiss, Korn, Motley Crue, Slayer, Stone Sour) started creating the ultimate drum sound to make this record really pop right out of the speakers!
"So that means the rest of us just sat around with our hands down our pants, right? WRONG! With the anticipation of the new album growing we decided to constantly film footage for Sonic TV, Robin did an interview with GT/Expressen, and we're approving artwork for the new album. Its all GO, GO, GO! More...

This is an awesome recording facility and by far the best place we have worked in yet. We started by setting up and tracking KC’s drums. With the help of engineer Zack Ohren, we are confident that this album will have our best production to date! More...
Norwegian doom metallers Syrach have issued the following update about recruiting a new drummer:
"As some of you may know, our beloved drummer Adam recently got a job in Oslo. This is about 8hrs away from Bergen by car or train or a 40 minutes flight. This makes rehearsals a drag, since he won't come over twice a week...
"So as a solution to this problem, we have started to rehearse with the wiz-kid Michael from the band NEOPLASMA. He's 17 years old, and very talented drummer and a great person as well. He will NOT replace Adam in the band, but rather help us out making new music since we need someone there to keep the rhythm. We have had two sessions with him, and two songs are now 'ready.' We will do more on these sketches when the lone traveler will make his way to Bergen. Hopefully it will be soon. So fear not, people! There are more SYRACHIAN doom, coming your way in the future!"

After a seven year hiatus, Black Plague Records is returning. Here's an update from the label:
"In honor of the forthcoming Sewer Goddess CD (With Dirt You Are One), I'm proud to announce the rebirth of Black Plague. It's been a full 7 years since the last release (Muskel's Seven Days of Pain CD), and what better way to have it resurrected than with some ultra grim and hopeless death industrial/power electronics from this Boston based cult project. Two tracks posted on the new myspace page, which you can access and add here: www.myspace.com/blackplagve.
"I'm not going to say it'll be the most prolific of side labels, but much like it's original intent, it will be an outlet for things of a, let's say, less polished nature than what you might expect out of Malignant. Grindcore and crust aren't necessarily out of the question, but that's getting ahead of myself. For now, wallow in the filth that is Sewer Goddess. Expect a late January release."
