Walking Corpse Syndrome Splits With Violinist/Bassist

After releasing a new music video for "The Individualist" (available below), Walking Corpse Syndrome now has some bad news: the band's violin player and bassist will be departing. WCS comments:

"Our good friend William 'Sludge' Saylor will be quitting Walking Corpse Syndrome. We wish him the best of luck as he pursues other opportunities. This is especially hard to announce since Bill and his unique bass and violin parts have been an integral part of the band since our very first show in April 2007.

"His last show will be November 23 at the Top Hat in Missoula Montana, after which we will immediately begin holding auditions to find our next bassist. We don't anticipate being able to find a bassist who also plays violin, so this next show will probably be our last one to feature violin.

"We understand that this will inevitably change the dynamic of the band, but we hope that you will stay with us as we travel down this musical path. We hope to see you all on November 23 so we can give Bill a proper send off."

Professor William "Sludge" Saylor also comments on his departure:

"It has truly been a pleasure playing in WCS the last 6 years of my life. I have experienced so many amazing moments, met some fantastic people, and gotten a chance to sample all the amazing culinary choices presented by gas stations across Montana and the greater North West. I'll cherish both the memories and the bonds of friendship formed for the rest of life.

"It breaks my heart to leave, but I feel it's time to start a new chapter in my life. I'm going to focus on developing my career outside the crazy world of music, yet still pursue new creative opportunities. I never really considered myself a metalhead, but nothing compares to the thrill of playing to an ecstatic moshing audience, frothing and blissful. Walking Corpse Syndrome has some amazing fans. I will miss you all! You have become my family in so many ways. I won't be a stranger to the band, or you."

Walking Corpse Syndrome will not be the same without Bill. We've always enjoyed sharing the stage with these guys and the personality of the band in the present incarnation is truly unique and exciting to experience. I am glad I got to both see them as they are now, and anxious to see what the future holds. Your fans will miss you, man! Wishing you all the best in your future ventures. Long live the Corpse! \m/
