Update: the album stream is no longer available, but you can hear music from the band at Facebook here.

Following in the grand tradition of Tolkien-inspired metal comes Ringbearer, the solo project of Vultyrous from Funeral Fornication and Archspire.

Ringbearer will be releasing new album "The Way Is Shut" via Tridroid Records in December, 2013. But while the release is still weeks away, you don't have to wait any longer to hear "The Way Is Shut," as today we are pleased to bring you a full stream of the entire album.

While Vultyrous is primarily known for his work in both death and black metal, Ringbearer is an altogether different beast. Ringbearer is lush and atmospheric, while still having black metal undertones at times.

Give the full album a listen below, and let us know what you think in the comments section. You can also read a brief interview with Vultyrous conducted by Tridoid Records about the album at this location. For more info on Ringbearer, head over to the project's Facebook profile here.

I like cinematic stuff. The only heaviness that jumped out to me is in Nine Riders, which I enjoyed a lot.

I like Nox Arcana and Midnight Syndicate which this reminds me of.
I’ll have to listen to it more to really see if it grabs me or not.
