Thousands of voices will soon join the familiar heavy metal war cry, "SLAYER!" as the Los Angeles metal legends return for the second time in three years to Auditorium Shores in Austin, Texas as part of the annual variety festival known as Fun Fun Fun Fest.
Metal Underground reported the group's scorching set at FFF 2011 . At that time, many fans witnessed Gary Holt of Exodus fame replace original guitarist, Jeff Hanneman, who was inactive due to complications with his health. This performance will mark Slayer's first appearance since Hanneman's death in May.
Additionally, '90s-era drummer Paul Bostaph returns in place of Dave Lombardo.
The group recently played an old school set at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, their first appearance since fans rioted in protest over their sold-out show 25 years ago.
In addition to Slayer, FFF 2013 will host numerous heavy-handed names such as Flag (Black Flag members), Body Count, Gojira, Pelican, The Locust, Misfits (FFF Nites), Venomous Maximus, Cro-Mags and many more great entertainers from sections as diverse as BMX biking and comedy. Visit Fun Fun Fun Festival's Web site to view a schedule of each day.
