Cradle Of Filth T-Shirt Gets Banned

According to Roadrunner Records U.K., merchandise company Blue Grape have had their printing plant refuse to handle the proposed artwork for the new CRADLE OF FILTH T-Shirt. The factory (TOT Shirts Ltd.) have been forced to reject the order since staff literally downed tools in disgust. The proposed artwork (see it here) features the image of a bare-breasted woman seemingly bleeding from between the legs and the band's logo on the front, with the words "You Gilded Cunt" on the reverse. Blue Grape have had huge demand for the T-shirt with worldwide orders flooding in. The company have no choice but to work on an alternative design.
The director of TOT Shirts Ltd. stated: "It is believed that the requested image and associated wording will cause offence to the general public and to our staff due to the controversial nature of the subject."
It wasn't long ago CRADLE OF FILTH found their fans the subject of a brush with the law for the now infamous "Jesus Is A Cunt" T-Shirt. Lord Provost of Glasgow demanded the shirts be removed by the police from Tower Records. The Catholic League of America, along with the Governor of Wisconsin, campaigned heartily for the shirt to be banned.
Further religious controversy is being fuelled by CRADLE OF FILTH's upcoming visit to Chile — where a Satanist teenager stabbed and murdered a priest. The promoters are having to bring in extra security for the backlash this has now created against the band and it seems CRADLE OF FILTH will not get the welcome to South America they had hoped for.
Over in the U.K., the "Gilded Cunt" track has been subject to the usual censorship only being allowed plays on radio post mid-night. Radio One's "Rock Show" have championed the track here, being careful to adhere to ITC rulings forbidding presenter Mike Davies from actually saying the "C" word whilst introducing the track… without a forewarning.

dani is actually very intulectual if you listen to what he writes and sings. his voice is pretty fuking awesome too. like screaming one minute then growling the next. like manson, he can go really low and evil then turn around and do his little high voice. thats just talent and genius there man. peace out.

The funny thing about them is that their band photos will be as corny and dated as Poison photos in another 20 years. Everyone will be laughing at them. The musicianship of course is good, no denyng... but it's no Priest (hell it aint even Dio). Do they think that they sound scary? Yikes fellers! Old Skool Metal Rulez!
cradle of filth are nothign but a bunch of sellouts. i remember when they used to be true black metal but that was long ago now all the mallgoth hottopic faggets listen to them. that shirt shouldent be banned its no worse then the " JESUS IS A c***" shirt if i where them i would be looking for another manufacturere. so in summery f*** cradle of filth f*** dani filth most of all and notestes "Dani Filth is the best and most original black metal singer in the world" that statement made me cringe because if you even had a clue wtf black metal is then you would never say that dani filth is about as black metal as phil from pantera but they both suck ass.
"cradke of filth suck", that was a very close minded thing for you to say, bear in mind that this is a pro cradle of filth column. If you tihnk highly enough of yourself to say that a good band "suck" then its evident that you're not very knowledgable with music and your range of music isn't very wide, i mean can you even begin to understand the complexity of a cradle of filth riff? infact have you even heard a cradle of filth riff/solo? It's very apparant that you have way too much time on your hands if you can afford to waste it b****ing about a band whos fans really couldn't care less about your opinion, you don't see cradle of filth fans b****ing about your bands do you? that's probably because to like cradle of filth and to see past teh spiteful gothic image into the musical technical skill you need a shred of brain cells which shows most cradle fans are smarter than you... now don't get me started on his vocal range..
i'm pro-COF, but i didn't really like the shirt, i thought it was a bit overrated, especially
after the "jesus is a c**t" shirts came out. i know it's to go with the song but maybe they
are pushing it a little too far. i don't think so, but after the super bowl incident, don't
expect to see that shirt out on the streets anytime soon.
and those are no vocal enhancements. and their riffs are as hard as hell to play.
I just wanna say something on the topic of this forum.
Musical differences aside, I think the design could've been done alittle better....from a strictly artistic perspective, there could've been more emphasis on her bleeding c**t rather than her body as a whole. Oh well, I got an Eaten Back to Life custom collared shirt that I made and wear regularly when I go to nightclubs and most people don't really care. In fact, more chicks dig it than I thought at first. Now, if I go up to the redneck president Bush and ask him to sign the back of my shirt, may be that'll be a different story...though it'd be a funny one.
Here we go another form with alot of cradle of filth haters, im a fan so im coming on here to talk about the shirt because thats what this is for, you may not like there vocals and fair enough thats ok, but it seems like hateing cradle is like a fad to so called metal heads, and you all said cradle sold out, is selling out doing what people say and not doing what you want? well part of that anyway, but all old fans of cradle say that there old stuff were classics, if cradle were to release albums like that all the time then it would just be plain stopid, so let them experiment, you might not like them but dont say they suck, thats a very non creative way of saying something, give a reason, and it seems like some peoples reasons are that they just want to sound all tough like all you so called metal heads, cradle of filth are amazing and thats my opinion, i mean i dont like gorgoroth but you don't see me saying they suck, because obviously they dont suck but i just dont like there music, you people can just hate music but every1 has reasons and all you say is i hate dani this i hate dani that you are all very shallow just give them a chance and listen to them PROBERLY! , instead of hearing dani filth's voice and wineing like a little b**** listen to the music and read the lyrics that should change you'r mind.........
No, we don't slag bands off too much. There are just too many bands who sound too much alike and often don't sound any good to begin with. That is my opinion and it shan't change until what I'm hearing from out there sounds different.
And all this about never giving Cradle a chance, ha ha ha. COF were the first black metal band I ever actually heard/enjoyed. I still garner great enjoyment from their first three releases, but as they've gotten older, the cheesiness that they always flirted with has becoming all-consuming.

This day in age all of these bands are all out to try and make an impact and it's getting old. Everything is almost already done and in my opinion, cradle of filth is just like any other industrial black metal band. Trying to make money and try to be "cool." heh, actually I don't care, I'll go ahead and say it, I am going to get a god damn stake, silver bullets, onions, toothpaste, a goddamn cross, have someone "bless" the sh** out of it and find these guys and start stabbing, throwing, shooting, and carving a god damn c*** In These Motherf***ers and snap a photo of that and put it on my band picture called Satans Kitty and then I'll Look "Cool." f*** Yeah.
I don't reckon Hecate enthroned's singer was as good as Dani. He initially played bass for cradel I think. Anyway, his voice was not as diverse and their music was simpler - though there were some nice melodies on their first record. That was the great prophecy a few years back, that Hecate Enthroned was gonna get bigger than cradle, but it obviously didn't happen. I think after their second record they started going death metal or something and went nowhere. Well, like everything else here all this is subject to difference of opinion.
Cradles cds are ok,latest cd is bether than last one but not near as good as old stuff. Dani's vocals suck live no doubt about it, Dani sounded like he was on the recieving end of a turd being dropped in a outhouse. I have seen many live concerts over last 30 years and COF concert last time was horrible. The boy can not sing without the help of a studio. Great stage show and band was tight but the singer stunk out the place.
Cradle is the first Black Metal band I've ever heard, and hated it at first. But now, it's my favorite band, and their last cd rocks. Yes, he may be exploiting himself to much, but don't think about that, but the lyrics, and the hard work they had put into it. You never know, another metal band might have heard Cradle, and was inspired by it and made their own kick@$$ record. I wouldn't diss them so much, when you couldn't do better yourself.

Im not a fan of cradle but that band has got alot of people into the whole metal scene weithear we like it or not, eithear they got them into it threw there black metal albums or there gothic metal albums its all the same, i honestly can say that cradle arent that bad and its better than people running around in the darkness and greenday tops but hey, dani has good taste in music maybe he will inspire fans to get into real black metal

Ahhh... Yet another Cradle of Filth debate. Cradle of Filth are a very talented band. Their old albums are masterpieces and cradle has inspired many Black metal bands with their Dusk and Her Embrace EP. Most of you metalheads are sooooo f***ing close minded. Your like f***in fascists. If a band is talented why do you diss them? Yet you honor bands like Mayhem which indeed did start the second wave but are so simplistic in their music. You guys obviously seem to have a backward taste in music. It's really laughable when you say Cradle of Filth suck and overhype lesser bands. Why don't you give Cradle of Filth a chance before you put them down. I enjoy BlackMetal don't get me wrong. I hold bands like Emperor in high regard. It's just cradle is a complex band and you should like them for their talent. It actually takes balls to make a shirt that saids c*** on that. Cradle have not sold out, just because they sign onto a larger record label means their sell outs?! Just because Cradle get a larger fan base is that any reason to stop listening to them? Some tr00 metalheads make me f***ing sick when they have such a norrow minded view on the music. STFU AND STOP DISSING CRADLE WHEN YOU CANT PLAY sh**! Hey Andy, Do you actually know anything about the basic elements of music? Look at a COF tab alongside a Maiden tab for f***s' sake, you'll notice that there is more than a passing similarity. You f***ing clown. If anything I should've written 'these days all they do is rip Maiden off'. When they were good, they weren't so close to Maiden in terms of riffs and song structure, now they're just lazily ripping off their idols. Yes, yes, there are some other elements, but simply not enough to make them worth bothering with. I have had enough of this band, and of it's fans, adieu.
