I wanna see this band go even heavier with this album. I like Stu's vocals and I feel he can take them in a heavier direction if they'd let him. He teased me in the title track for their last album.

killer painting

cant agree with 'Fallen that dystopia TOTALLY sucked, but it definitely had several instances of pretty severe suckage that could certainly contaminate one's perspective in regard to the record as a whole...its a real shame, as there are some brilliant moments on there

if Jon could manage to eliminate the goddamned Cheese Factor, and give Stu the proper vocal liberty/authority he deserves, this band would climb about ten notches up on the scale of world metal dominance

I get the impression that going into this, Block felt that he would have had a bit more expressional freedom within Iced Earth, which is a delusion I think has been borne out over and over with the majority of former members of this orchestration (dictatorship) of musical chairs...I give Stu one more record and its subsequent touring before he sees the light and bails

the current Ashes of Ares interview with matt and freddy alludes to 'ball and chain' that iced earth seems to become for its members/pawns

Jon needs to concentrate on writing his brilliant music, and let a real lyricist handle the wordsmithery and vocal arrangements...focus on what your good at, don't rip yourself off because you 'need' to control everything, give it to an expert. But then, the lyrics Stu wrote on dystopia were fvcking horrible

How many an epic iced earth moment been utterly and embarrassingly been ruined by incredibly ill chosen words and/or delivery???

WAY too many

As a surnote, I think Ashes of Ares and Barlow's lyrics/delivery are super cheesey as well :)

Maybe there doesn't exist after all a sweet baby jesus to save these poor wretches from the burgeoning, sweating slabs of Wisconsin that plague them???

ah, the Curse of Iced Earth
