Bonded Through Hate Guitarist Ron Kuczuk Passes Away From Pancreatic Cancer
Ron Kuczuk, guitarist for Connecticut's Bonded Through Hate has reportedly passed away from pancreatic cancer. Kuczuk had been dealing with a staph infection in 2012 which led to the loss of his leg. In the last year, as he fought through those issues, he was admitted to the hospital for stomach pains from fluid buildup and was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Kuczuk also played on the 1993 Tyrant Tooper demo "Moral Extinction" and full length LP "Insance Sickness," as well as with death metal act Slumlord. Bonded Through Hate released its debut EP "Doomsday: The Rise of Valhalla" last year via Ear One Records.
The band has not yet issued an official statement, however, a post on the fallen guitarist's Facebook wall came from former Tyrant Trooper bandmate Rick Brayall, and reads as follows:
"It is with an extremely heavy heart that I have to inform everyone that my bandmate, my friend, and my brother, Ron Kuczuk, has passed away. I know most of you will find this extremely shocking as did I. As most of you know Ron had been dealing with issues stemming from a staph infection last year which left him with the loss of his leg. Several setbacks had knocked him down in the last year and a half but did not knock him out. He was fighting all of his issues like we would all expect him to, like a Trooper. He was always very private with his issues and never wanted to worry anyone. Recently he was admitted into the hospital with stomach pains and fluid buildup in the belly. After running tests it was discovered that his issues were being caused by pancreatic cancer. He was found to be in advanced stages and the outlook was not very good. He was still willing to fight but unfortunately it already was really too late. Ron passed early this morning peacefully and with no pain. Arrangements are expected to be on Saturday 8/31 in Planstville but I will update everyone when all of the details have been worked out. The family would also welcome everyone to leave kind words, or any stories and memories on his page.
"I was fortunate to share the stage with him many times over the years. It was music that brought us together but it was his raw talent, sledgehammer riffing, and incredible personality that kept us pushing each other as friends. Over the years we have done other projects and we would always run ideas across one another so that we could keep improving as players and writers. Having been able to do several Tyrant Trooper reunion shows and then watching him put together his newest project, the mighty Bonded Through Hate, I was so proud for him. I was glad to see that he was able to grace the stage again. Even after some medical setbacks he was able to play a few more times recently despite his issues.
"Ron, please know that my life has been definitely better for having known you, being able to call you a friend, and having been a part of your musical journey. I look forward to maybe joining your band again someday... I Love You Brother... Rest In Power"
