Update: although no details on the cause of the hospitalization have been revealed yet, the band has announced tonight's (August 9th) show is also cancelled.
August 8th -- At the sold-out show in Nashville, TN on the tour featuring headliners Children of Bodom and Amon Amarth and support acts Huntress and Battlecross, a shocking last-minute revelation came just before the first set via a member of the Bodom crew: Alexi Laiho has been hospitalized, and the band has decided to cancel the set for the evening. No further details were given. MetalUnderground.com correspondent Frank Serafine was on hand at the show to verify the news.
Refunds were offered to attendees that chose to leave after hearing the news, although the promoter announced that the three other bands would still perform and would play extended sets. At this time, the status of the tour is not known. A follow-up statement from the Children of Bodom camp is expected.

I was the one who broke the news to the security guards up front after hearing the Bodom crew tell their merch crew in the back -- I was just speculating that it was dehydration because of all the boozing the band does and the hot weather tour dates they just played, so "dehydration" is definitely not the official word as to why he's in there.

There was no reason for Laiho's Hospitalization in the news. Is the band informed the media about the reasons?
As a Finn friend of a finnish export metal bands I have followed this band since 1997. I remember the news that Laiho has been in hospital due to alcohol earlier (drank too much whiskey), is his stomach failuring again?
I wouldn't call Alexi out on this; must of been serious enough. Atleast I hope so. I remember a few years back at the Congress He fell out of his tour bus bed or something; and played the night prior and that show or something like that. Anyway, after playing these shows checked into the hospital for enternal bleeding or something.
