The Rockstar Ramblings: Return of the clichés

This week we return to video clichés; also a new twist on the ‘Rocky Balboa’ training regiment.

Last Bullet has released their first music video for the single, “Forget The Rest.” The video gets right down to business with a girl working her Daisy Dukes and carrying a bucket of ice cold Canadian Beer. Fact: All beer looks good in a bucket of ice, even Old Milwaukee. Remember those commercials? I remember thinking that maybe it doesn’t get any better than that…then I tried Old Milwaukee and almost threw up. ANYWAY, the hot girls are washing cars until they stop at 2:41 because the band has arrived. The band takes the keys and leaves without the girls and beer. Interesting choice, they must REALLY like cars. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that)…

“Have a Good Time” is the first video off King Kobra’s latest album, 'II.’ I love the on-stage Go-Go dancer (I believe every band should have one of these at all times), but question the wide open leather vest. Can we please get some buttons or a T-shirt? Also, when putting together the concept for this album was it just one person that suggested they “split screen the shit out of the video” or was it a group vote?

Canadian rockers, Helix, have posted a video for the song "Champagne Communist", from their 2011 EP 'Skin In The Game.” Hey, wait a second, isn’t that the Mayor that was recently accused of smoking crack? A couple minutes in I’m realizing he’s not the political target of this video – NOW that’s some mighty fine corruption. Remind me to stay the hell away from Toronto…

The Slam have released a music video for the single "Tears In The Rain", the first from the band's 2011 Scarlet Records debut album 'Hit It!’ I do not like how the singer is sitting in his chair. You are only allowed to sit in a chair like this if you are Mr. Belding and need to “rap” with Zach Morris or are trying to convince someone you are not a Narc (which usually means you are totally a Narc). ANYWAY, just turn the chair around please…

While taking a break from the Sex Slaves, Eric13, along with Johnny Richie are “Makin' the sounds of the American Underground.” Their new single and video is titled “Can’t Get Enough of This Rock N’ Roll Business.” It doesn’t take long to see where this is headed. Raw eggs? Check. Gray sweatsuit? Check. That’s all I need… ROCKY! ROCKY! ROCKY! The boys put their own cigarettes, beer, and Irish Pub old-school Philly spin, but in the end all you really have (or ever need) is ROCKY! ROCKY! ROCKY!
