The Rockstar Ramblings: Diamond Lane

Diamond Lane have released two new videos from their album, ‘Sapphire’, released in June. This L.A. band has quickly become known for their fist pumping riffs and FOX sports friendly hooks.

Their first video, “Sapphire”, begins with a horror story vibe and a very “easy” rock and roll girl. Slut you say? No, no one here is saying that. Can’t a girl like to party? Some clips look exorcism, others a nasty episode of Hoarders. The trance during the guitar solo is a nice touch…

Up next is “Hey Hell Yeah” a straight up party anthem, also from Diamond Lane. At first glance this looks like one of those Hangover movies. Not the good one, one of the sequels.

Lots of bad flashbacks of drinking and fist-pumping with sunglasses on, none of this is good. Tip: To beat a hangover drink lots of water, take Advil, and always wear your sunglasses. Remove them for a minute and you’re fucked. Back to the video… These flashbacks are making me uneasy. You know it was a “bad” night when you wake up handcuffed to one of your “bros”… Also, the dude waking up (at 0:47) under a Budweiser box… Was the box used for warmth or did he almost get crushed and have to drink ALL the tall boy cans to survive?

How does this band cure a hangover? By drinking more, eating pizza, and wearing boxing gloves (in case something from the night before attacks?). This turns into another night of drinking which is the definition of a bender. Not many girls the second night of a bender, mostly beer bongs and a pizza delivery guy.

The video ends with a clock alarm set for 6 in the morning. Pizza guy cracks open a fresh beer. Hey, where are his sunglasses?
