The Rockstar Ramblings: Who The Fuck Are You?
Remember when videos were meant to be fun and bands didn't take themselves too serious? Seems like ages ago... New York City rockers, Sex Slaves, have released a new video for their song "W.T.F.R.U." This new video is a flashback to all that used to be awesome in videos.
We start at a nursing home. That's right, but this isn't any standard nursing home. No, this one has incredibly attractive, tattooed nurses walking around. (Bonus: The "starring" intro gives a seventies porn movie type feel.) Everyone gathers into the "hall" or cafeteria, or wherever the old folks congregate. A wheel chair slides up to the drum set. The song begins.
It doesn't take long before cans of PBR are passed around and Jack Daniels replaces the medicine bags in the IV stands. Where did the nurses go? They are there, often in the background, passing out drinks, stripping, motor boating old dudes, or in a back room with lead vocalist Eric 13 being sexy. Complete in old dude make-up and argyle clothing, Sex Slaves win over the crowd (the scene with the old-timers mouthing the chorus kills me)!
The song is both high on energy and high on the cheese factor. Sex Slaves border on Steel Panther territory with this video (something I don't believe they are afraid of), but the song rocks regardless, stuck in your head well after you close YouTube. (Bonus: Great set list opener.) Fun, tattooed hot nurses, bubbles, and rock and roll! After all, "this is the sound of the underground" (at least according to the deviants from Sex Slaves). Hilarious, well done...
