Wachenfeldt Announces New "Colophon" EP Release
Wachenfeldt has announced the band's new EP "Colophon" is set for release on the 30th of May via digital retailers online. The EP was recorded at Fear and Loathing Studios and Bowstead Studios by Jon Skäre & Thomas von Wachenfeldt, with mixing and mastering handled by Ola Lindgren at Studio Soulless. The following press release was also issued by Sliptrick Records:
"Due to be available through every download and streaming platform worldwide, the debut 6 tracks maxi-EP ‘Colophon’ from Wachenfeldt is definitely a not to be missed 2013 metal release. Drawing influences from the likes of Entombed, Morbid Angel, Dissection, and Carcass, but also from the world of classical and traditional Scandinavian folk music, Wachenfeldt is a four piece band from the north of Helsingland, Sweden.
"The members of the band have had long careers in different genres on their own, but their roots are in the extreme metal. Vocalist and bassist Thomas von Wachenfeldt (Lodge Doom, De Tveksamma) is a classically trained violinist and composer spending his days as a teacher in music theory, music history and violin. Von Wachenfeldt have also worked with Entombed, Grave and Corroded among many others as arranger and orchestrator
"Martin Björklund on lead guitar is also a violin player, but first and foremost a highly skilled guitarist. The rhythm guitarist, Kent Eriksson (Oof Expain, Sad But True) has been around in the Swedish underground extreme metal scene since the beginning of the 90's. Eriksson is a guitar tech, handling the guitars for Meshuggah. The drummer Jon Skäre (Oof Expain, Sad But True, Feared, Sign) works as a drum teacher both physically and virtually on the popular Swedish music learning site playalong.se."
The track listing is:
1. The Pentagram
3. Litany to Satan
4. The Valley of Unrest
5. Hymn to Lucifer
6. Le Chat
