Nox Ultima To Release New Album "From Delirium To Catharsis"

Finnish act Nox Ultima will release new album "From Delirium to Catharsis" next month via Inverse Records. The label has now issued the following statement about the album:

"Nox Ultima was born in 2009 with the simple agenda of creating and manifesting black metal. As time sped by the form of the black metal has changed, but the heart and core remains the same: influenced by old-school sounds, more modern structures and a cold, cavern-like atmosphere that characterizes Nordic black metal, Nox Ultima still sounds like the beast it was maent to be. Nox Ultima has tried to be as prolific with releasing new material as it possibly can be – spewing forth unholy sounds into the world with zealous abandon, experimenting with all the available sounds and themes that black metal can and should manifest.

"The lyrics are made by A.H and deal with themes that relate to the occult, philosophy, psychology, societal issues and religion – mostly from a personalized viewpoint. Music is a great shamanistic journey into the heart and being of humanity, and as such, offers infinite expressive possibilities, that can be utilized with narcotics to expand one's consciousness. Such shamanistic and even 'neo-pagan' views have heavily influenced our compositions, with most songs seeking to emulate or support trance-like states.

"From Delirium To Catharsis is an album that takes this process to its current peak, with nearly all of the songs discussing themes of transformation, either from a man to a beast, or from a man to a transcendent being. The process of transformation and the enlightenment therein is
hidden in the notes and structures of the songs."
