Soulfly is pleased to announce the band has inked a deal with Nuclear Blast Entertainment, a new division of Nuclear Blast formed by owner Markus Staiger and former Roadrunner A&R chief Monte Conner.

Soulfly will enter the studio this month to begin recording an as-of-yet-untitled ninth studio album. The record will be produced by Terry Date, who is known for his work with such bands as Pantera, Deftones, and Soundgarden, among many others.

"I'm really excited to be signing Soulfy to Nuclear Blast Records,” commented frontman Max Cavalera. “On top of it, we're going to be reunited with Monte Conner who I've worked with for over 20 years at Roadrunner. Soulfly's new album is going to be recorded in Seattle with the great producer Terry Date, and it's going to come out later in the year through Nuclear Blast worldwide. Keep it metal!"

"It feels so right to be reunited with Max Cavalera,” added Monte Conner. “He is the second artist I signed and we've made 17 albums together over the years, including several metal classics. Max's voice remains just as unique and powerful as the day I met him and I felt the last Soulfly album Enslaved was his strongest work since the band’s Gold-selling debut. I am honored to call him a friend and to continue to be a part of his mission."

The band recently released a short trailer in which Max updates the Soulfly tribe about the coming album. Watch it at this location.

Nice one.

Love Terry Date's production style and apparently he's quite an as$ kicker in the studio, which is only good with someone like Max Cavalera.

Certainly looking forward to this one.

Good on Nuclear Blast as well. That label's a monster.

Soulfly's last album was one of their heaviest to date, so i really expect big things from the new one. Looking forward to hearing what they come up with.

Max has said in interviews his going to keep it as brutal as enslaved but bring back more tribal elements as well. That is f***in gold to my ears, I love every soulfly album but i was starting to miss that raw tribal sound they had in there first 4 installments. An to go on with nuclear blast should just make them even more like gods than they already are.
Maxs riffs and vocals are sick.
Rizzo is a shreading god.
Tony campos bass is quick n heavy as f***.
And maxs son zyons the new drummer, he killed it with them live on tour.
