"some music was meant to stay underground..."

Album Artwork & Track List For New LP Unveiled By Queensrÿche

Queensrÿche, the progressive metal band now fronted by Todd La Torre (Ex-Crimson Glory), announced that the band's highly anticipated new release will be self-titled and will be issued on June 25, 2013 (pushed back from June 11th) via Century Media Records.

Drummer Scott Rockenfield commented on the album: "This gets said often by a lot of bands, but we believe we have recorded some of our finest music in years. The collaborative effort of everyone on this album is something we are extremely proud of. Working with Jimbo and the addition of Todd has revitalized the band in ways we never knew until we heard the final results. We know you have to wait a little longer but are excited for all of our fans to hear it. Queensrÿche wouldn’t be in this position if not for your unwavering support!!"

The track listing for "Queensrÿche" is:

1. X2
2. Where Dreams Go To Die
3. Spore
4. In This Light
5. Redemption (streaming here)
6. Vindication
7. Midnight Lullaby
8. A World Without

I LIKE THE ARTWORK. THE CLASSIC QUEENSRYCHE DEVICE MADE TO LOOK BOTH REGAL AND AGED. IT REMINDS ME OF WHITENAKE'S SELF-TITLED 1987 ALBUM COVER. THE TRACK LISTING LOOKS INTERESTING, EXCEPT I AM NOT INTO LULLABYES.

THIS COVER IS A LOT CLASSIER THAN GEOFF TATE'S "FREQUENCY UNKNOWN" COVER, SHOWING A FIST WITH RINGS THAT SPELL OUT "F. U." ........... YEAH WE GET IT GEOFF, YOU'RE A FIST FIGHTER. OK.

I think they debuted the first 6 songs in the trailer last year. You can hear the last one with the lyric mentioning the title "This is vindication." "In This Light" is the dumb Bon Jovi sounding ballad. The first song Where Dreams Go to Die is by Parker Lundgren, he did he also wrote lyrics? The screaming chorus of this one, is awful sounding. "Spore" sounds is the usual power metal sound and vocal tone "mental satisfactions" but could be the best song of the first half.
