Debut LP "The Book Of Gates" Expected By Amadeus Awad's EON This Summer
Progressive metal band EON, the brainchild of Lebanese guitarist Amadeus Awad, is set to release the debut album "The Book Of Gates" this summer (exact date of the release has not been announced). Awad is a well known guitarist in Beirut after launching his solo career in 2010. In 2012, he received international recognition with the album "Time Of The Equinox," which featured Mark Boals (Ex-Yngwie Malmsteen/Iron Mask/Ex-Royal Hunt) on vocals.
"The Book of Gates" is the band’s first studio album under the new name EON. The conceptual release features new instrumentation and arrangements, unheard oriental elements and a list of guest musicians (with more to be announced), including:
Kevin Moore (Ex-Dream Theater/OSI)
Timo Tolki (Avalon/Ex-Stratovarius/Ex-Revolution Renaissance/Symfonia)
Amanda Somerville (Trillium/Avantasia/Aina/Epica/Kamelot) (as "The Queen")
Sir Russel Allen (Symphony X/Adrenaline Mob) (as "The Pharoah")
Rounding the main band will be vocalist Elia Monsef, Patrick Stephan (drums) and live bassist Samer Zouein. The main influences for the band include: Dream Theater, Kamelot, Avantasia and Arch/Matheos.
