Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival 2013 Lineup Announced

The lineup for the sixth annual Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival was announced today. Artists performing on the 2013 fest include main stage metal and horror legend, festival closer, ROB ZOMBIE, plus, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH and a lineup that includes additional main stage bands MASTODON and AMON AMARTH. The festival area is led by stage closers CHILDREN OF BODOM and MACHINE HEAD as well as BEHEMOTH, JOB FOR A COWBOY, EMMURE, BORN OF OSIRIS, MOTIONLESS IN WHITE, BUTCHER BABIES, BATTLECROSS, HUNTRESS, THROWN INTO EXILE and CITY IN THE SEA. Four stages will be presented this year for the first time ever and the stages include the ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAIN STAGE, THE JAGERMEISTER STAGE, MUSICIANS INSTITUTE STAGE, as well as, the SUMERIAN RECORDS/HEADBANG FOR THE HIGHWAY CONCOURSE STAGE, (local bands performing on the Sumerian Records/Headbang for the Highway Stage will be announced in June).

All tickets go on sale March 22nd at 12:00 Noon local venue time via www.rockstarmayhemfest.com or www.livenation.com. The tour will stop in 26 cities across the United States and Canada as it makes its way to the Gexa Energy Pavilion in Dallas, Texas on August 4th, 2013. I thought it looked pretty good overall. Of course the bad bands are horrible and I'll skip them completely, but MH, Zombie, Amon Amarth, Behemoth, and COB works for me. I'll pay for lawn "seats" - never much cared to pay the big bucks to be seated in the pavilion.

Don't think it's too bad a lineup. There's 5 or 6 bands there I'd pay to see on headline tours. A few up and coming bands on the small stage aren't bad. Sure, Five Finger Death Punch blows, but I can hit the beer tent during their performance.

I only have to drop 20 bucks to watch Children of Bodom, Behemoth, Machine Head, Battlecross, and Huntress up close..... I've heard Born of Osiris is half decent so I may check em out as well.

I'll admit it'd be nice to be up close to Amon Amarth and Mastodon but it's whatever, I'll be a bit worn out at that point of the day anyway. Only beef I have with this lineup is no classic bands, I guess you could argue Rob Zombie is at this point in time though.

20 bucks for COB playing 45 mins is about the same price I'd pay to sit around a club till 1 am to watch a 55 minute set......

Seems legit, out of about 20 artists half are worth watching (at least for me, but everyone else is posting the same artists), good god don't any of you people have to take piss/food breaks?
