Upon Wings Streaming New Song "Take Away"

Upon Wings is set to release its new EP, "Afterlife," this Tuesday, March 5th, via Sword of the Spirit Records LLC. Today, Guitar World is hosting the exclusive premiere of a new song off the EP, titled "Take Away." Head over here to stream the track and read more about Upon Wings.

Rock and metal fans will recognize plenty of names on "Afterlife." Kid Rock recording engineer and Grammy-nominated mixing engineer Glenn Brown mastered the EP, while Brett Hestla (ex-Creed, Dark New Day) provided guest vocals and production talents on the lead single.

More assistance came from Canadian guitarist and producer Kevin Jardine and drummer Peter Tzaferis. Recording sessions for "Afterlife" took place at Johnny K's legendary Groovemaster Studios in Chicago, where Disturbed, 3 Doors Down, Staind and countless others have laid down tracks.

Upon Wings combines operatic, female-fronted goth-pop with rousing rock and metal in a unique, ethereal fashion. Frontwoman Anne Autumn Erickson is a classically-trained dramatic mezzo-soprano, and her lyrics take listeners down a path of heartfelt introspection, pain, joy and faith. The track listing is as follows:

1. Afterlife
2. You Are My Weapon
3. Take Away
4. The Dream
