"some music was meant to stay underground..."

New Act Artlantica Formed From Artension, T.S.O. And Helloween Members

The driving forces around acts Artension and successor Angel of Eden: guitarist Roger Staffelbach, keyboardist Mistheria (Angel Of Eden/Rob Rock/Tommy Vitaly) and vocalist John West (Artension/Emir Hot/Ex-Royal Hunt) have joined forces to form the new band Artlantica. Joining them are drummers Dani Löble (Helloween) and John Macaluso (Malmsteen/TNT/Ark) along with former Artension member and bass Icon Steve DiGiorgio (Sadus/Testament) and guest guitarist Chris Caffery (Savatage/Trans-Siberian Orchestra). The band is set to release the debut LP "Across the Seven Seas" in the USA on May 21st, in Germany on May 24th and in Europe on May 27th as CD and download (incl. 1 bonus track).

"Great vocal melodies with anthemic potential, virtuoso guitar and keyboardpassages including spectacular solos, in addition to a blistering rhythm section which gives the songs their pace, groove and dynamics: the very ingredients which guaranteed seven brilliant releases in ten years from the American-Swiss cult act Artension and caused a global stir on 'The End Of Never', the only album by Artensions successor Angel Of Eden."

Staffelbach describes the result as...:"powerful, heavy occasionally majestic, grooving, melodious and timeless. Each instrument has its place, none of them sounds too dominant, everything has only one purpose, to serve the song."

The album consists of ten tracks and was mixed and mastered at Tommy Newton's (Helloween, Gamma Ray, among others) Area 51 studios.
