The Rockstar Ramblings: A Love Story
Swedish rockers Sister Sin have released a new music video for "Hearts Of Cold", the second single from their recent album 'Now And Forever.’
(NOTE: Lead singer, Liv Jagrell will not being getting an Oscar nod for her performance.)
The video starts with Liv driving a Stingray. There is a “Kill Bill” feel to the moment (later find out the song is loosely based on characters Mikey and Mallory from “Natural Born Killers”) as she drives and looks over at the dude riding shotgun. FLASH BACK to earlier, Liv is serving drinks at a bar. The dude is sitting at the bar, maybe contemplating a good pick-up line to use on Liv. “What’s your sign”, “Heaven must be missing an angel”, etc… Nothing is working in his head.
At a table in the back a group of guys are harassing Liv, pulling at her and playing an unwelcomed game of grab ass with her. Back at the bar with the dude who is watching the scene. That’s it, I’ve got my in! The dude goes back to the table and rescues Liv by stabbing the guys with a knife, leaving them for dead and then offering his hand. She accepts. (NOTE: We still do not know what her sign is.)
The new couple makes out in the back alley and then they decide to rob a house. Liv makes it out, but the occupants return while the armed dude is still there, so he has to murder them. During their getaway the video flashes back to a world where the couple video tapes each other and finds grungy corners of the world to make out in. Oh, young love.
Liv and the dude end up in a hotel and the cops are onto them. However, they escape before the cops arrive. The dude makes sure to grab the cash on the nightstand which has been removed from a bag with the dollar sign on it. (NOTE: The same “$” bags used by Bugs Bunny in every cartoon bank scene.) During the escape both are shot in the stomach/chest area, but still manage to flee from the cops.
This brings us back to the Stingray. Liv is driving and they are both bleeding. Will they make it? Not sure, but stay tuned for the sequel where they will acquire a bomb with a label that will probably read ACME…
