Prosthetic Records has checked in with the following announcement about an upcoming new album from Skeletonwitch:
"Who's ready for a NEW Skeletonwitch album?? Us too!! The band just announced they will be recording their fifth album in April at God City Studio with none other than Kurt Ballou (Converge, Kvelertak, Black Breath)!"
Skeletonwitch also issued the following statement: "Happy New Year! Hope everyone is off to a great start. First off, thanks to everyone who supported Skeletonwitch during this past year. We did some serious gigging in 2012, and your support on the road and of ‘Forever Abomination’ was overwhelming. We would be nowhere without you. It’s not just idle hands that do the devil’s work — we’re already deep in the process of writing a new record, which is shaping up to be quite an epic slab of metal, if we may say so ourselves. Keep an eye out for frequent updates. Drink it, smoke it, eat it!”
This new album will follow-up the band's 2011 release "Forever Abomination" (reviewed here), and further details will be announced as they become available.

If Ballou applies his magic to the new Skeletonwitch in the same manner as the latest Converge expect something raw... Like a polished and precise live album.
If Ballou follows his inclinations from the prior 3 Converge albums or meshes his techinique with the precedent of Skeletonwitch's previous production methods, expect something where all the creepy instrumental nuances shine through. I'm excited by this either way.
