The Rockstar Ramblings: Cocaine Cowboys
Swedish metal sensation Crashdiet have posted the music video for their new single "Cocaine Cowboys", taken from the band's forthcoming album 'The Savage Playground.' The new album is due for release in January through Frontiers Records. Crashdiet will be hitting the road in February with Sister and Toxic Rose in a package named the 'Scandinavian Hell Tour.' In the meantime, here’s a look at their new video for “Cocaine Cowboys.”
We begin with a corporate setting. There is a business meeting with middle-aged men in suits and the hottest “water” girl EVER. Has this ever happened at your work place? I’ll answer for you: FUCK and NO. Cut to the band and they are carrying baseball bats that make them look more badass than ever. Is the band the cocaine cowboys? Have they been sent to take down corporate greed by use of baseball bats? Yes, this is my initial take. Also, confirms my suspicion that the homeless guy on the corner (poking people with pins) isn’t the most dangerous guy on the block – it’s the coked up stock broker with his fitted suit and shitty cigar.
After a few baseball bat swings the band goes old school with an old fashioned burlap-over-the-head kidnapping. The corporate greed suits are led to a wall and the hottest firing squad EVER appears. PLOT TWIST! The hot firing squad turns to Crashdiet and shoots the band members dead and then spreads acid on the bodies. What is left from the disintegrated bodies appears to be the freshest cut cocaine known to man.
So…is the message that Crashdiet has done ALL of the cocaine in the world and now this is the only way to score coke? Who are the cowboys? The middle-aged suits, the hottest firing squad EVER, or the band? All I know is that appears once again that BIG Wall Street wins and also confirms my suspicion that EVERYONE is having more fun than me…
