On October 28th, 2012 Stone Sour will be hosting an intimate release party for latest CD "House of Gold and Bones Part 1" at Wooly’s in downtown Des Moines, IA. Stone Sour has chosen to reach out to fellow Des Moines band Dead Horse Trauma to kick off the festivities.

Dead Horse Trauma has been touring the Midwest promoting the band's most recent release “Tellus Hodiernus Caducus” (reviewed here) and was featured on Lazer 103.3’s annual Lazerfest Events in both 2010 and 2012. The band made the announcement about opening Stone Sour's release event while on stage during an opening gig for Hed P.E. on October 17th. The following press release was issued about the currently unsigned act:

"Hailing from Des Moines, Iowa, Dead Horse Trauma is a regime of 5 men. The group showcases a unique, militant, well-articulated metal sound. Its plague-like pandemic of die-hard fans and nationally recognized achievements are only rivaled by the insane energy-packed live shows showering the region.

"Since the band’s conception in 2006, Dead Horse Trauma has worked persistently and the hard work shows through their many accomplishments. Dead Horse Trauma dominated Lazer103.3’s LazerFest Battle of the Bands with the majority of 9000 votes and aggressively took 1st place allowing them to take part in Iowa’s largest music event in history. Along with their new album THC being sold in Hot Topics nationwide, the band has been featured in magazines and publications such as Revolver, Hollywood Music Magazine, Juice, CityView, Lyric X-press, and continues to gather attention from all over the world."
