The Rockstar Ramblings: From Slash Till Dawn

Slash is back into the animated video world, this time for his song “Bad Rain”, the latest single from his album ‘Apocalyptic Love.’

The video begins with a Death of a Salesman looking fellow who just wants to unwind with some girls and rock and roll, you know, the American Dream. What does a guy like this order – I’m guessing something “on the rocks”, he looks too beat down to order just a light beer. His eyes widen when he sees a fetching tattooed girl begin dancing on the stage. The scene starts as a burlesque type show, but quickly escalates to full nudity with Slash (featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators) playing in the background.

At 1:22 we see another patron that looks like he wants to murder the dancer. This could quickly turn into an animated SVU episode if he’s not careful. Is that anger or sexual frustration at 1:45? All is forgotten by 1:50 when we are gifted with an elusive animated Slash smile.

Somewhere around 2:29 during the guitar solo the video takes a “From Dusk Till Dawn” turn. An octopus appears, pushing the Salesman into the angry guy who turns into a werewolf type figure – and not the cozy Teen Wolf type – but rather a bad ass rip your face off type of werewolf. THEN… the main character is pulled onto the stage with the girl. The video completes its 180 degree flip when Myles rips off the skin of his face (as does the rest of the band).

On stage the girl is dry humping our Salesman. Clearly there is not a “NO TOUCHING” policy here. Then as he goes in for the kiss (RULE #1: Don’t kiss the burlesque/stripper) a snake (one from her back tattoo) appears and swallows the Salesman who then becomes a tattoo on the burlesque/stripper’s arm.

Does the werewolf eat the girl after? Even Ice-T and the rest of the SVU team wouldn’t be able to solve this case.
