Silent Stream of Godless Elegy has also issued the following statement about the controversy of Illuminandi, a Christian band, performing at the tradtionally pagan Samhainfest:

"Samhainfest/Beltinefest has been an international concept of gigs for folk metal bands since 2010. This international festival was formed on these roots and so far it has taken place in 8 countries. Till now it was hosted by bands Cruadalach (Cze), Brezno (Slo), Nothgard (Ger), Stribog (Cro), Niburta (Hun), Krampus (It), Percival Schuttenbach (Pl), Avven (Slo), Oganj (Cro), Abinchova (Swi), Virrasztók (Hun), SSOGE (Cze) and Illuminandi (Pl). Recently some voices arose from Poland against the participation of Polish Christian band Illuminandi in this event which will take place in Moravia - Brno and Ostrava. Even the headliner of the events Arkona (Rus) was asked by these people to boycott the events because of the participation of Illuminandi, whose lyrics are based on Christian spirituality.

"We would like to express our total disagreement with such points of view, although we are aware of the different social background in Poland and we understand from what causes such radical antichristian voices can appear. However, we are a lucky and tolerant society in this way and we do not see any problem in participation of Christian bands in our line-ups; just the opposite, we like diversity. We care about music and the music of Illuminandi simply sounds interesting to us. Samhainfest/Beltinefest is absolutely independent festival and we feel fully entitled to freely choose our allies. Quality of music, fair behaviour and friendship are important for us. We would like to point out that actions against our events are actions against people who have worked very hard for the folk metal scene to bring interesting foreign bands to their fans. We see undermining Samhainfest in this way as a highly unfair attempt to harm a project of open-minded and active bands who do not care about any rumours and hostility.

"The band Illuminandi itself rejects the accusations, stating that they are just people who like to do music their way. Through their lyrics they express their view of the world, but it’s definitely not their intention to force it on anyone. Contrary to the rumours spread on the internet, they are not sponsored by any political or religious organization. They respect Slavic Pagan history and beliefs and call for tolerance, so as they are tolerant towards other beliefs (which they btw. prove by inviting Moravian Slavic Pagan metal band, Silent Stream of Godless Elegy, to share the stage with them in Poland).

"The band Illuminandi says: 'We ‘re not trying to pretend to be a Pagan band to conspire against Paganism – some of us simply are huge fans of folk, metal, and the combination of these genres, so it’s natural that our songs are influenced by them. We’ve never called our music PAGAN METAL, only GOTHIC FOLK METAL. Also, remember that nobody owns any kind of music, be it folk or metal – neither Pagans, nor Christians or Atheists. Anyone is free to play whatever they like regardless of their beliefs. Sometimes we use medieval-like imagery, because we find this period fascinating. We also respect Slavonic mythology (which Pagans would call faith); even though spiritually we chose to believe something else, we know this is what our ancestors believed and appreciate this heritage not as our religion, but as part of our cultural roots.'

"Acknowledging what Illuminandi stated above, let´s bring their art to Samhainfest where they will perform side by side with other folk metal bands including the symbolic Arkona. It will be a friendly show full of various aspects of our spiritual history and present. Although some of you can dislike some parts of our show, it is part of our culture too. See you on Samhainfest!"
