Gorgoroth Parts Ways With Vocalist Pest, Announces Replacement
Band Photo: Gorgoroth (?)
Norwegian black metal veterans Gorgoroth have announced that vocalist, Pest, has been fired from the band with immediate effect after he refused to make the band his top priority. The band will still be honouring its touring comittments however. A message from the group reads as follows:
"Out of respect for and loyalty to Gorgoroth's audience and collaborators, Infernus (guitar) has kicked Pest out of the band, effective immediately. This after Pest informed the band that he would not be prioritizing doing the upcoming Latin American tour after all, just two weeks before the band was set to depart for Brazil.
"Infernus has decided that the tour will go on as planned, though, and Hoest of Taake will replace Pest as vocalist on the tour starting on September 7th.
"As for the next Gorgoroth studio album, Instinctus Bestalis, vocal duties will be handled by a Serbian Satanist known as Atterigner, of the band Triumfall (Forces of Satan Records)."

A satanic serb replacement huh?
Good luck with that one.
I like some of gorgoroths older stuff but infernius is a bit too, idk fvcked up to keep taking seriously personally.
I like the aspect of black metal promoting individualism and not to go along to get along, but advocating church burnings and practicing real life satanism losses me.
Still for the most part i think black metal has come along way and has matured, but has also been a bit saturated, especially with the commercial success of dimmu borgir.
Still their are some good acts going including tsjuder
Infernus sounds like such a drama queen. And here we thought it was Gaahl the whole time.
I still can't get over Frank being in the band...Infernus, Pest....AND FRANK.
How black is your band when you have Frank, the dude from sunny fvckin' Florida.
Will be interesting when the new God Seed finally comes out to see which group is superior.
My money is on neither.
No worries Greed.
I meant it all in jest.
I’ve been a huge fan of Frank since Cause of Death and I think the move to Gorgoroth was probably for the best since Obi hasn’t come out with anything I really liked since World Demise.
I also don’t recall him writing that much for Obi but I may be mistaken.
Hopefully he’ll be given more artistic freedom with Gorgoroth.
I also read he’s more into the punk/aggression which Obi was/is in dire need of.
Ever since they’ve reformed they’ve really been playing the midpaced, sludgy stuff which is fine but….if you look at the early albums there was a ton of speed and aggression to go with the doom.
That aspect has been lacking ever since Back From the Dead.
As far as Infernus?
I have to chuckle at the whole black metal scene in general.
From the fight with Gorgoroth/Gaahl,King to all the “Dimmu Drama” with ICS and Mustis as well as the never ending revolving door in Cradle of Filth there just seems to be no end to the comic material that comes out of the scene.
