Alleged Wisconsin Shooter Wade Page Member Of Punk Rock/Metal Band End Apathy
NBC News is reporting that Wade Michael Page, the alleged gunman who is believed to have shot and killed at least six people at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin this weekend, was also apparently the front man for a white supremacist punk rock/metal band called End Apathy.
End Apathy's MySpace music page is currently still active and still has several songs for streaming with titles like "Self Destruct," "Submission," and "Useful Idiots." The band's bio reads that "End Apathy began in 2005 with roots in old school hardcore punk and metal influences. The music is a sad commentary on our sick society and the problems that prevent true progress."
Wade was reportedly discharged from the Army in 1998, and no clear motive for his alleged shooting has been announced at this time. According to reports, Page himself was shot dead by a police officer at the scene of the crime.
An interview Deadline Live conducted with Wade Page from 2010 is also still available online at this location.

At this point I don't think anyone is blaming metal for the event, but that may change as the motive comes into light (although, surprise surprise, Pat Robertson already blamed it on the existence of non-religious people). The news stories I've read so far have simply including in their reporting that he was in a metal band. This has really got to suck for the other people who have been in the band (assuming they don't support his actions).
Good points sonictherapy and BG...here comes the usual media crucifixion of everybody with shaved heads, tattoos, long hair or piercings....This is what happens when you train people to become killing machines and then let them back into society...BG be nice to the gays, the gave us Rob Halford....I wonder if they'll ask chick fil a's opinion about this tragedy....this tragedy sort of belongs to all americans because it was our taxes that paid for this person to be turned in to a murderer. Between this and the cro mags incident metal has been set back a good 15 years of goodwill in the eyes of the general public.
Right on MetalFan420....in all of recorded history a loaded gun has never gotten up off a table and shot someone....nor has a record flown of the turntable and slashed someone's throat....the problem is people....not music or firearms. I am a big supporter of the 2nd amendment but when our founders wrote that the most advanced gun of the day fired a single bullet and took about 15 minutes to reload. There's probably been a lot more shootings at hip-hop concerts than at metal shows...The only famous metal musician to be shot was dimebag...how many rappers have been killed by guns?

^^^I haven't read anything current that Holmes was gay.
That whole case brings up why conceal and carry is so important. Little f'er tried that here, me and the pink pistol posse would ended his $hit real quick. Baam...b**** goes down.
Anyway, BG you definitely have a valid point, sarcasm or not. I've never made my hatred of American media a secret. Whether they're turning a blind eye to certain groups being victimized or playing favorites with gays...it's definitely there. You'd have to be blind (no pun intended) not to see it.
Now...we can look back to the 1930's - 1980's when the media did everything they could to demonize gays and I can say that they're pro gay bias is now justice in a sense.
Does that make any kind of bias right?
No, but it's there like it or not since the media is controlled by the super rich, just like every other aspect of life is controlled by them.
And for the time being, gays are in their good graces.
That can change VERY quickly if the past is any indication.
The shooter in WI.
Very sad...too many people are trying to use it as a vehicle to further their own agendas.
Pat Robertson, the tea party, the left wingers.
Everyone is pointing the finger at everyone else when, if they were as "morally sound" as they all like to claim they would simply STFU and let the families mourn.
Simple truth is, the guy is nuts.
He is an embarrassment to our race and to people in general.
Am I surprised by the medias metal slant?
Of course not. It's adds to the sensationalism and that's what sells.
I don't think WI has the death penalty...pity.
I'd coat him head to toe in A1 steak sauce, drag him to the zoo and throw him in the lions cage.
Bye bye sicko.
So shall you live, so shall you die.
You do something this animalistic then you forfeit your right to be treated with any kind of humanity.
This is why BrianMN should rule....who's ready to crown me queen? David Vincent was nice enough to loan me his rainbow colored cape.
