Decaying Comments On New Material For Upcoming Album

Finland's Decaying has issued the following announcement about working on an upcoming album:

"All but two songs have now lyrics written and the rehearsing continues. We are going to start tracking guitars in the start of October. No studio date has been set for the drums yet though. Can't wait to get this album recorded!

"The track listing for 'The Last Days Of War' looks like this right now, although the song titles aren't final. All songs have been demoed and we're right now rehearsing them.Total length of the CD is about 46 minutes.

"1. 'Preparation' - it is the intro for the album, a minute long song with a cool Bolt Thrower -like melody.

"2. 'Code Name Overlord' - our 'new Operation Citadel' of the record. Fast riffing, drums annihilate and the chorus is memorable. The lenght of the song is 6 minutes... Tells about the Invasion of Normandy.

"3. 'The Ardennes Offensive' - the fastest song of the album, 4 out of 6 minutes is constant thrash beat. The song slows down a bit in the middle section, and once again starts ripping things apart. Battle Of The Bulge was the last large scaled, although desperate offensive Germany launched in the WW2.

"4. 'Firestorm' - The second longest track, about seven and half minutes. This one has multiple sections - in the beginning it goes midtempo with a lead guitar on top, then it speeds up for a while accompanied by a galloping guitar riff. Things slow down to create a doom metal atmosphere, and in the end there's a fast heavy metal riff which will get some heads rolling for sure! The theme for "Firestorm" isn't yet quite set, but right now it will probably tell about the bombing raids Britain and US commited over Germany in WW2.

"5. 'The Last Days Of War' - the title track, four and half minutes long - the shortest song after 'Preparation.' This is a midtempo song all the way through, some heavy-ass riffage, and clear death doom influences. No lyrics yet, will probably tell more universally about the misery and suffering a conflict can cause.

"6. 'Passchendaele' - six minutes long once again. Tells about the third battle of Ypres in WW1, which was a part of the hundred day offensive that ultimately forced Germany to surrender. Starts with a somewhat desperate doom melody, and then demolishes the listener with its main riff. Extremely heavy stuff.

"7. 'El Alamein' - three minutes of riff oriented old school death metal in the vein of Death and Bolt Thrower, three minutes of in your face -type traditional doom mixed with some Asphyx. The scale used in the beginning of this song even reminds a bit of Melechesh! Tells about the Desert War of WW2.

"8. 'The Pacific' - The closing song, 9 minutes long. Starts with a guitar intro which resembles
'Annihilation' from Devastate. Rolls on with a heavy, epic doom riff untill it 'lifts off' and starts to grind the listener with some old school asskicking! Finally the song returns back to the doom theme and ends the album pretty much like '... To Decay' and 'The Rising Sun' did earlier. Lyrics are missing once again, but it will most likely tell about the events of 1945, between Japan and the United States.

"'The Last Days Of War' will be most likely out early 2013, no date set yet though. The CD release is via Hellthrasher Productions, and there are also plans for the vinyl release, but nothing is certain yet."
