The Contortionist Inks Deal With Season Of Mist

Season of Mist is proud to welcome modern metal act The Contortionist to the label's roster. Season of Mist also issued the following press release:

"The Americans broke onto the scene a few years ago and have quickly earned the title as one of the most musically inclined bands in the progressive metal genre. In their brief but accomplished career, the band has supported a wide variety of acts including Periphery, All Shall Perish, and The Acacia Strain, as well as headlining the inaugural edition of USA’s Summer Slaughter Survivors Tour last year.

"The Contortionist's sophomore album is entitled 'Intrinsic' and has been scheduled for a physical release on October 19th. The digital version is out on iTunes today and includes an exclusive bonus track!"

The track listing is:

Holomovement
Feedback Loop
Causality
Sequential Vision
Geocentric Confusion
Dreaming Schematics
Anatomy Anomalies
Cortical
Sollipsis
Parallel Trance

The album was produced and recorded by Eyal Levi (Daath, Job For A Cowboy) and Jason Suecof (Trivium, Devildriver) at Audiohammer Studios. “We are really excited at the opportunity to work with Season of Mist in releasing ‘Intrinsic’ to our European fans”, the band comments. “We're big fans of the label and all that they do and can't wait for this opportunity!”

“On ‘Intrinsic’, we’ve found ourselves focusing on the songwriting as well as the new textures and melody we’re striving for. Each song has its own identity and flow, but the album is fun to listen through in order cause of the conceptual ties,” adds vocalist / keyboardist Jonathan Carpenter.
