Kelly Hayes Leaves Cold
It seems COLD just aren't having great luck with members these days. Now, guitarist Kelly Hayes has left COLD and has been temporarily replaced by Matt Laughran, formerly of the pre-COLD outfit GRUNDIG.
"Yes, it is true," COLD frontman Scooter Ward confirmed in a posting on the band's official message board. "Kelly has left us. and instead of canceling the tour we got Matt to fill his position for this tour.
"Sam [McCandless, drums], Jeremy [Marshall, bass] and I have always been the core of COLD," he continued. "We write the music, we care about our fans and we will always be COLD. We were in shock also. But we can't have someone in the band that doesn't feel the music anymore. That's all we are about. Everything is fine."
Hayes, who is believed to have joined the Jacksonville, Florida-based "modern rock" band ALLELE (web site), is the second guitarist to leave COLD in less than six months. Late last year, Terry Balsamo exited the group to hook up with EVANESCENCE. He has since been replaced by former DARWIN'S WAITING ROOM axeman Eddie Rendini.
