Czech online newspaper Blesk.cz recently conducted an interview with Lamb Of God manager Larry Mazer, the following of which appeared in its newspaper today. This is the transcript of the interview, which we translated into English as best as we could. Read the full article here. This is what Larry Mazer has to say about the unknown plight of his client, Randy Blythe, as he continues his best to get him through this difficult time.
Blesk.cz: What is the current situation, when will Randy Blythe will be released?
Larry Mazer: I have no idea. The deposit was made on Tuesday morning. We tried to make it Monday, but it took longer than expected. Randy should have been released immediately.
His lawyer assured us on Saturday he'd be released soon. 'You bring the money, you get released.' I know in the US it would have happened.
Blesk.cz: How long will Randy be in jail?
Larry: They told me that it may take up to 20 days. The investigator may request more time for an investigation of the case.
Blesk.cz: What are the reactions of the other bandmembers to this?
Larry: Everyone is shocked. It's absurd. Is it a bad joke. Randy sits in prison and he didn't do anything. He's innocent.
Blesk.cz: Did you know about the Czech fan dying after the concert two years ago?
Larry: We hadn't been here for an entire two years. My data is unavailable, but I hadn't heard from the family. We didn't know a promoter. No answer.
Blesk.cz: When did you first learn about it?
Larry: Not until last Wednesday. The organizer of the concert at Klub Abaton told us that the Czech police contacted them three months after the boy died. I don't get it, no one responded. The boy was in a coma and then died, and no-one said anything.
Blesk.cz: Czech police said they contacted the American side ...
Larry: No one said anything to us. Do you think that I'd let the band to play in the Czech Republic if I had known this?
Blesk.cz: The police say that Randy pushed the fan off the stage...
Larry: There is a video of the concert, which shows someone jumping into the audience. But Randy didn't push him, he pushed the guards.
Blesk.cz: Was it a member of Randy's security detail?
Larry: You can see that the man fell to the ground, into the crowd. The fall is there.
Blesk.czt is normal that Lamb of God concerts are so wild?
Larry: It's typical for rock concerts. People want to have fun. Lamb of God concerts are no different.
