The following press release was also issued about the album
"'Catharsis' is a culmination of years of hard work and dedication by AWA to put forth what they believe to be their best work yet. The album consists of ten songs that range from the up-and-coming djent style, to epic power metal, to straight deathcore and anywhere in between. The album is driven by the contrast between the soaring powerful clean vocals of John Tree and the uniquely diverse screams of Rick Hardy. Rick’s ability to create the entire range of screams that exist in metal will keep the listener engaged for the 47 minutes of the album.
"The release of 'Catharsis' comes after the release of A Wanted Awakening’s EP 'Rebirth' in July 2010 which received outstanding reviews from numerous music blogs. The EP was downloaded around the world in Europe and to as far as southeast Asia by all types of music fans. The buzz generated by 'Rebirth' has set the stage for an even bigger impact this time around by A Wanted Awakening with the release of 'Catharsis.'
"A Wanted Awakening has been a force in the New England music scene for years performing sets with high intensity and a stage presence that commands the utmost attention from concert attendees. In the past year A Wanted Awakening has been able to be apart of some of the biggest concerts in New England such as the 2011 New England Metal & Hardcore Festival and the 2011 Rock & Shock Festival. AWA is prepared to take on a extensive touring schedule in support of the release of 'Catharsis.'"
