Is Rap Rock Dead?
Brad Delson and Phoenix of Linkin Park recently spoke with ChartAttack.com, who asked if rap-rock was dead. "I think great songs are alive and well and I think any group, no matter what style of music they play, if they write great songs — great parts, and great lyrics, and great vocals and great music — people are gonna like it," Delson responded. "I think people like to look at who’s writing good songs and then they like to speculate about a category of music that’s popular, whereas I would argue that it really has nothing to do with category: it’s really individual artists and individuals songs that are capturing people’s imaginations."

rage was the only good rap-rock, and deftones, but thay wheir way befor the nu-metal sh** started. i think the rap-rock stuff has died. we no longer see,and hear fred durst and his ego all over tv inless hes stalkin a pop star agin. and linkin park well as long as their are sad 13 year olds out their thay got a fan base.
haha notice how the guys from Linkin Park avoided answering the question - it seemed like a simple yes/no question to me. Phoenix.... what the hell kinda name is that anyway? and whats with that fag in LP who wears earmuffs? is the music too loud for him or something? sh** next they'll be wearing 'fashion bandages' like Nelly. both Chino or Zac(h) de la Rocha wouldnt have stood for that crap in their bands!!! Rage and Deftones f***in rule man!!! Linkin Park are gonna be at download festival this year (headlining mainstage over Cradle of Filth - unbelievable!!)and im gonna throw as many bottles as i can at those homos haha
Nah, I think he answered it about right. It's not really about a style being dead, but whether the labels think it's worth pushing sub-par bands that represent a fading trend into the public eye. The bands who can write good songs/hooks and kep their following will continue to succeed even if the trend is past. Saying it's "dead" would carry a lot more implications, and you never want to say/admit that what you do is entirely gone or obsolete.
yeah point taken but he said 'great songs are alive and well' - well as far as i can remember LP havent made any great songs. And he forgot to mention that all it takes these days is for a song to have a catchy tune or beat but no real music talent whatsoever (i aint talking about LP - i admit they have some talent - but im still gonna throw bottles at 'em) or naked hoes and fast cars on the video clips, and kids will buy this sh** up like crazy!! Its a f***in disposable/throwaway world these days but i wish music hadn't become that way. Thank god for the Slayer's and Pantera's (albeit disbanded but what they stood for is what im gettin at) of this world!!! Heavy Metal Lives ON!!!
ur a f***ing gay bastard metal razor u like it shoved up the tight a$$ faster faster ohhhhhhh yeaaaaaa and then u suck the c** right outta him... that explains why u waste ur f***in time on this site i've had beef with u b4... its not my fault they post LP stuff on here, talk to the f***in person who posted the news... tell him that LP doesn't belong on metal underground n then all of u should just shove it... LP, Disturbed, Metallica, Taproot, Pantera, Mushroomhead, and Mudvayne f***ing rule end of f***ing story and no i'm not a f***ing "sad 13 yr old" i'm f***ing 20 yr old chick whos sick of all this sh**

God I hope rap altogether dies off! It will take years to get the stink out!
