The Rockstar Ramblings: H.E.A.T.
Swedish rockers H.E.A.T. have released a video for “Living on the Run” from their album titled ‘Address the Nation.’ As with most rock bands from Sweden, H.E.A.T. have a sound that may be referred to as “1986.” Yes, love it or hate it…let’s take a trip back to 1986!
The song begins with a view of New York City at night. We move inside a very expensive looking multi-level apartment/house that is probably located in the SoHo neighborhood and probably costs 20K a month. The setting and opening guitar chords reminds me of a Bret Easton Ellis book turned movie. The band is playing AND mingling with guests and EVERYONE is drinking champagne. This is a very “artsy” crowd and a judging purely on the ability to play and mingle a talented band.
Apparently “Living on the Run” is a metaphor for getting drunk on champagne and rejecting really hot girls that throw themselves at you. Oh, before I forget: The bandana/aviator combo is worn well by the keyboard player. Nice job! There is more champagne and then there is a hot tub scene. Two things jump out at me, first, this is a relatively small hot tub for such a large apartment, right? I mean go BIG or go HOME! My second question is where’s the coke? There is no way large amounts of cocaine are not consumed. Look around, this is the definition of a coke party.
