While I own and enjoy their debut album, I still feel a song of this nature doesn't need to as long as this. That being said I still love those crushing riffs.

I’m not even sure where to begin with that clip.
SO MANY bands are painfully embarrassing to watch/listen to live.
That was a rehearsal???
WOW.
ZMA^^^ I’ll have to politely disagree with you about the songs length.
This, along with “Dagger” is my favorite on the album.
It’s long for sure but there’s so much going on that it holds my interest from start to finish.
The big pay off for me comes at the 6:40 mark. That is just TOTAL 16 bit video game musical goodness.
I totally picture Super Mario jumping to various platforms while head banging to that riff.
I still can’t believe MU gave the album 3 and a half skulls. This to me was the #1 album of 2011.
And now that I’ve had time to explore Meshuggah’s catalog I don’t think the comparisons are fair at all.
Yes they play eight string guitars and the sound is the similar but Vild has the ambience and the dynamics. “Ambi-djent” perhaps?
For those who disagree let’s look at the early 90’s in the Swedish death metal movement when Entombed came up with that defining “sound”.
Dismember.
Carnage.
Unleashed(sort of)
All of them liberally “borrowed” that sound and yet the underground recognizes all the contributions they’ve made to the scene over the years.
I see nothing wrong with Osiris and Vild borrowing the sound as long as they expand on it. And in their own ways they have.
Ok, ranted long enough.
If this song doesn’t make you a fan, nothing will.

It's all good Brian, I get where you're comin' from. I mean I love their debut I spin it all the time, and I love Dagger. Just this particular song felt a little dragged out to me. But when they hit into the song, like I said, those riffs were crushing.
I'm into this band, so I'm definitely looking forward to more material by them.

But yea I wouldn't exactly compare them to Meshuggah. This band took hints from Meshuggah, then probably smoked some really strong kush and then started playing. (the kush is where the ambiance comes in lol)
Either way this was something I haven't exactly heard from many other bands, and this band has managed to mold those 2 extremes together and form a cohesive unit.
