Guitarist Buckethead has officially left GUNS N' ROSES. According to MTV.com, Buckethead became fed up with GUNS' inability to complete an album or tour and stopped working the group late last year, his manager said.

Although Buckethead appeared on the green carpet at the Grammy Awards last month and was introduced by PARLIAMENT/FUNKADELIC bassist Bootsy Collins as a member of GUNS N' ROSES, he had already told GUNS frontman Axl Rose he no longer wanted to be in the band, the manager told MTV.com.

The guitarist will now focus on numerous projects, including two solo albums — "Population Overdrive" and "Cuckoo Clocks of Hell" — which are due this summer.

GUNS N' ROSES are scheduled to headline the Rock in Rio festival in Lisbon, Portugal, on May 30. It is unclear whether the band will have a new guitarist by then. GUNS N' ROSES' label would not comment on Buckethead's departure, according to MTV.com.

buckethead (or any other musician who refused to work with axl) is justified. axl cannot live on past glories alone. new materail would be highly welcome, but if they are anything like that crappy 'oh my god', take a vaccation. don't bother coming back. we'd rather settle for a 100th spin of 'Appetite'.

F*** axl , I talked to Brain at the house of blues a couple of months ago when i saw Giant Robot play . I asked him whats up with Guns n Roses and he said F**** Axl, that idiot never goes to rehearsel or practices and if he does he is always drunk. Brain said that Buckethead is tired of him and that it soon was going to be over.Buckethead is a crazy guitarists with amazing skills he has done lots of albums. Slash is not as good or even close to Buckethead.

i never really got in to gnr, but if axl wants to bring his band back he needs to kiss up to not only slash, but izzy, matt, and duff as well. it needs to be the original line up. look at duran duran, (this is just an example) they realized that if they released another album with only 2 original members than they would make another sh** album. they needed the full line up agian and did it work? yes, they are in the studio making a new album and touring and selling out show and getting some sweet a$$ duranie p***y.

axl needs to get this band back together right before its too late.
