April Fools! Did We Get You?

Band Photo: Behemoth (?)
We hope you enjoyed our April fools stories yesterday as much as we did! In our long-standing tradition, we devoted the entire day to fake news and spoofs. We had fun writing them despite the fact that we can't really fool most of you in our tenth year of the tradition, even when we start off with some very plausible (yet fake) stories. Many thanks to those of you resisted blurting out “April Fools!” In case you missed them, you can read yesterday's April Fools stories here.
I had fun reading all of them, as well as the comments, but here are a couple particular stories I want to talk about briefly:
Thanks to Alestorm for playing along and spreading the word of our April Fools that they were kicked off of Paganfest. With their help, the story spread so quickly that our server could not handle the load for a while.
Our Behemoth story seemed a little too believable despite the talk of "Spiritual Conflict" and Nergal's previous statements following his recovery, and we apologize for any confusion this story may have created. Behemoth has not dropped off the Decibel tour and we're very much looking forward to seeing Nergal back in action on this tour ourselves..
To those who got all worked up about it, we've been doing this for a LONG time now. The bands that get spoofed are mostly ones that we like and the others are just easy targets. And sometimes the stories practically write themselves! It's all in good fun, and no harm is intended.

^ Really? Well, one retard here.
Ok, I went for one of them: I did wonder about the Metallica / Fred Durst thing for a moment.
A band that recently created a "masterpiece" with Lou Reed and wanted Hanson to sing the laa la la laa, laa laa laa bit on "Memory Remains" but got Marianne Faithfull instead would most certainly work with Durst, no question.
Diamond Oz: Well in truth I just had a bad eye! It appears that I didn't even see most of the articles, ha. Also, I'm usually used to seeing things that are pretty obvious for deliberate laughs, like "Varg To Do Pepsi Commercial" lol. This year it appeared that most of the articles were made in attempt to be more realistic. That said, a good job overall.
