Tool to Tour With Dream Theater on Progfest Tour

The biggest progressive metal tour of all time is coming to North America. Tool and Dream Theater will be co-headlining a trek across the entire continent and will be bringing Gojira and Epica along for the ride. According to Tool drummer Danny Carey, “This is a tour that we've wanted to do for a long, long time but we just never got around to since the money and scheduling were never right for us. Now fans can finally see us with Dream Theater on the same bill. I remember Adam (Jones, Tool Guitarist) first passed the idea along back in 1998 but we had Ozzfest coming up so it just didn't happen and then Maynard got busy with A Perfect Circle so that really limited our touring options from there on out.”

The appropriately named Progfest tour will kick off this August across major American cities. Tickets are not currently on sale as of yet but will be available in upcoming weeks.

The best April fools gags are those that seem realistic and crush the soul of those excited on April 2. :) As important and impressive as DT are, I have a hard time seeing Tool taking them out.

Damnit, I actually fell for it. I saw this late last night in while in a stupor and was SOOO excited! AAGH!

And, you'd think being a Tool fan for most of my life, I'd be a little more careful with news related to them...

Stranger line-ups have existed for real. I saw AC/DC with Yngwie Malmsteen in New Haven in the eighties.

I fail to see how this line-up is all THAT strange. I thought they fit well together IMO.
