Rob Zombie and Megadeth have just announced a co-headlining tour guaranteed to raise the temperature on the planet. The trek, which marks the first time the two bands have toured together, kicks off Friday, May 11th in Holmdel, NJ and encompasses high-profile appearances at several rock festivals, including Rock On The Range and Rocklahoma. Rob Zombie will headline Rocklahoma, co-line (with Incubus) Rock On The Range, and will close all shows on the Megadeth dates. The tour wraps Saturday, March 26th at Rocklahoma - a list of confirmed dates is below.

The tour will come on the heels of Megadeth's critically acclaimed return of the traveling festival Gigantour, created and curated by frontman Dave Mustaine. Twenty-eleven also marked the release of Megadeth's 13th album, the appropriately titled "TH1RT3EN."

This will be Rob Zombie's first concert tour since last summer's "Hell on Earth" co-headline trek with Slayer. Zombie spent last fall and winter shooting his sixth feature film, "The Lords of Salem" that he wrote and directed and is making with the producers of the "Paranormal Activity" franchise. With principal photography completed, the film is currently in post-production.

Dates are as follows:

5/11 PNC Bank Arts Center Holmdel, NJ
5/12 Toyota Pavilion Scranton, PA
5/16 Stage AE Pittsburgh, PA
5/18 The Deltaplex Grand Rapids, MI
5/20 Rock On The Range Columbus, OH
5/22 La Crosse Center La Crosse, WI
5/24 Tyson Center Sioux City, IA
5/25 Hartman Arena Wichita, KS
5/26 Rocklahoma Pryor, OK

Way better than that Slipknot and Coheed combo. Although I felt bad for Coheed because when I saw them play in Baltimore no one was interested in them. But hey, Megadeth still rocks, and Rob Zombie makes good music. I wish I could make it to this.
