Luca Turilli's Rhapsody Issues "Ascending To Infinity" Recording Update

Dominique Leurquin has checked in with the following update about Luca Turilli's Rhapsody recording the new "Ascending to Infinity" album:

"Hi my friends, Dominique here for you from the freezing Annecy ha ha. I am actually here in the French studio of my friend Arnaud recording the rhythmic guitars for our album ASCENDING TO INFINITY.

"I just finished to record the parts of the song DARK FATE OF ATLANTIS and I can tell you already this will be a killer song of the new RHAPSODY release. I am looking forward to playing it live because, apart from being the typical RHAPSODY fast hit song that all our fans will love to listen to, it contains so many bombastic elements that on stage will sound really impressive.

"The technical level of this song is very high for everybody and the drumming of Alex Holzwarth is just amazing. Therefore the recording was not easy at all because in these kind of songs, to get a massive impact, you need to go for the maximum precision and all the rhythmic instruments have to sound 'together' at 100%. Therefore for these kind of speed songs Luca always asked me to cross-check each take at half speed and for me and Arnaud sometimes is a double work, but of course the final result in the end needs to be perfect and for this style of music it is really necessary. Especially when on top of these same rhythmic there is a whole orchestra moving ha ha.

"But surely I am having a lot of fun and this is what really counts in the end. For each part I am recording at the same time a distorted signal and a second clean DI signal too, to give the possibility to Luca and Sebastian to re-amp everything later for the mix. This is the best solution possible as in these kind of epic and infinite productions you can not really know before which can be the guitar sound that fits better with the other instruments, especially the orchestral ones often 'fighting' for the frequencies here and there. Ok, time to go back to work my friends. Expect a great RHAPSODY album and see you soon on tour!"

Luca Turilli also added: "Thanks for the great words, Dominique. Ha ha… just to add that right now we are killing the computer system of Sebastian (Roeder, engineer and owner of Kempten’s Backyard Studios) with the song OF MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL AND LUCIFER’S FALL. Between epic choirs, opera choirs, orchestra and guitars we are setting a new record for our band: over 300 tracks of true 'apocalypse!' Peace and Love my friends."
