Demonical Explains Canceled Tour Dates

Demonical has issued the following statement about the band's recently canceled tour dates:

"We want to thank all the people who came to our six shows last week, it was an awesome ride and some very memorable gigs! Unfortunately the last three shows of the tour were cancelled and we wish to explain why this happened.

"The first sign of trouble came after the 4th show when the booker/tour manager Thomas 'Buddha' Bodenschalz of Heretic Visions Productions (who organized the tour) didn't give us the agreed fee. However, we didn't pay too much attention to this at that point as we had some other post-show priorities.

"The day after, before the gig in Milano, we got informed that the busdriver/owner hadn't got paid as agreed - apparently he was supposed to receive a daily fee during the tour - and then we instantly realized that the entire tour was in deep trouble. If the driver wouldn't get paid he would stop the bus in Mannheim and that 6th gig would be the last of the tour.

"Right away we called for an urgent crisis meeting with Thomas and it turned out that he hadn't made any budget for the tour nor had he kept any books regarding incomes and costs. During the meeting we tried to sort out what kind of costs and incomes there had been and in the end it turned out that a rather significant amount of cash was simply missing. Thomas had no clue where the money had gone, but even more worrying, he didn't have any financial nor logistical back-up plan how to solve the situation.

"The only explanation he came up with was that the money must have been stolen (which later on turned out not to be true, the money was simply gone due to lousy planning, misjudgements and the lack of a basic economical plan).

"Since Mr Bodenschalz had some experience from booking tours we expected him to be on top of things but we realized quite fast this was not the case. 6 PM the following day was set as deadline, by then Thomas had to find the missing money in order to keep the nightliner rolling and that way secure the remaining tour. However, we had already realized that the chances for the tour to continue as planned were rather slim, Heretic Visions seemed simply bankrupt.

"When we came to Mannheim for the 6th show we were informed that Thomas had failed to come up with a solution for the tour just as we had expected. Meanwhile, we as a band had tried to put together several alternative ways to do the three remaining shows of the tour but due to different practical reasons (mainly the backline) it was simply impossible to get everything working with such a short notice. The only solution left was then to officially cancel the shows in Antwerp, Valenciennes and Oostende.

"We have done many tours through Europe during the past years and every tour has always gone according to the plans. This was the first time something like this happened to us and also the first time we did a tour for any other booker than Dreamtide Music. We are very disappointed how everything turned out and we promise we will return to France and Belgium as soon as ever possible.

"Thanks again to our brothers in Requiem, Tormention and Erupdead for six awesome days, Herb the Hammer for solid driving and last but not least, the many loyal fans and followers who came and took part in the massacres. See you all soon again!"
