The Rockstar Ramblings: Video Heaven, part II

This week we travel from Russia to Brazil and take a look at some new videos recently released.

The first video is from Moscow sleaze rockers Addiction for Destruction. Their new video for “Feelin’ Fine” was shot “without a big budget” according to the band. This would be a running theme for the videos today. The video begins in a station wagon and the band is drinking both cans of Budweiser and something in a bottle. Don’t worry, drinking AND smoking AND driving are okay as long as you have a designated driver, which from what we can see they do. For most of the video the driver keeps two hands on the wheel and is constantly checking his rearview mirror. Of course, that may be because they are fleeing the cops. My biggest complaint is that we never actually find out where they are headed. Apparently there wasn’t enough money in the budget to complete the trip…

Next up Swedish rockers Sister Sin featuring Doro Pesch cover Motorhead’s classic “Rock N’ Roll.” Not much to say here, as usual Liv is easy on the eyes and easy on the ears. This is a no frills video shot in a pretty cool looking rock club. This video is (probably) Lemmy approved!

It’s off to Brazil where hard rockers S.H.O.T. have posted the second music video from their current album 'Holocaust Riot', this time for the single "Seventh Night". This video puts the LOW in low budget. There is a ring of fire. There is the band. Uh, did I mention the ring of fire? Which cost more: The gas to haul the equipment to this abandoned parking lot or the matches to light the ring? Burning questions left unanswered…

The Scottish band, Peepshow, have posted a video for the song "Let Go", the first single from the Scottish band's upcoming CD 'Brand New Breed'. There is a girl looking through a camera (or peephole I guess) and she sees a band (SPOILER ALERT: It’s Peepshow). There are fans, mostly (or all it’s hard to tell) women in Michael Myers style masks. Around 1:50 the spying girl walks up to the stage with the others looking on. We can’t hear what they are saying, but I’m pretty sure it’s “Bitch, where’s you mask!” At 3:00 the girl is “transformed” and is now wearing a red mask. At first she fights it, but then she succumbs. The video ends with the girl again looking into the camera/peep hole. Was it a dream? Let’s hope this actually happened. This video also confirms my rule of steering clear from glory holes, I mean peepholes…
