Motley Crue has announced that it will be taking up a steady gig in Las Vegas for the month of February. The band will be performing a test run of twelve shows at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Casino between Feb 3rd through the 19th. This will be the first metal "house" band in Las Vegas, a town known for steady residency gigs of other types of musical performers such as Toni Braxton, Elton John and Bette Midler. The band made the announcement on the Piers Morgan show, and had the following quotes to say:
“It is a dream come true for me especially living in and loving Las Vegas,” says singer Vince Neil. “I am thrilled that a guy like Piers Morgan would help kick it off!" Adds drummer Tommy Lee, “I don't know about you, but when I think of Mötley Crüe I think of filthy sex, drugs, a REALLY big show and way too much fun... sounds like Las Vegas doesn't it? A match made in heaven!!!”
“We are very excited to announce our upcoming partnership with legendary rockers Mötley Crüe,” said Paul Davis, vice president of entertainment at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. “The one-of-a-kind production will be the most unique, interactive, fan-driven concert experience the band has ever created. Mötley Crüe is a perfect fit for the Hard Rock and we can’t wait for this unforgettable residency to begin!”
Adds Bobby Reynolds, Vice President of Booking for AEG Live Las Vegas, “We’re thrilled that Mötley Crüe is creating their most notorious show ever and bringing it to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in notorious Las Vegas. This concert experience is going to represent what the fans love most about Mötley Crüe, the Hard Rock and Las Vegas: good times, rock n’ roll and a stage show like no one has ever seen before!”

Probably a win/win for both band and venue. I mean who would you rather see; Celine Dion or the Crue. I loved the Crue as a teen also. I really havent paid much attention to them in so long. I did see them on Ozzfest a year and a half ago and i can say they've certainly have seen thier better days. Neils voice is much, much worse than it was when i had last saw them in the summer of '90.
Well where do u start. Netromancer obviously forgot to mention Nikki Sixx the man who writes most of their stuff, Vince's voice is Motley, remember when they TRIED to replace him, BAD. I saw them in Brisbane recently AND THEY ROCKED!!!!!!!!!! Of course they all look a lot older but who doesnt, I say they have come through the storm really well. Read "The Dirt", it's a wonder they are still breathing!!!!!!

I love music in general in various genre's, but CRUE in Vegas are you kinding me....this would be a great show. I hope they extend the dates because I am going to vegas the following weekend after their last scheduled date. If they extend it and are playing when I'm in town I am definately there.
Read up a bit and I stand corrected. Apparently Nikki wrote most of their material for the first 4 albums. I was talking from an instrumental standpoint. Nikki had said in a very old interview that he took up bass because he actually stole one by accident. I mistook that as a indicator of his musical talent. As a bassist myself I can admit I've been underestimated as well ;)
I JUST SAW MOTLEY AND POISON 2 TIMES THIS YEAR AND THEY ARE STILL NUMBER ONE IN MY BOOK! AND YES THEY HAVE PARTIED PLAYED ROCKED ECT ECT DRUGS ECT ECT BUT WHO WOULDN'T HAVE IF THEY WERE IN THE SAME SITUATION! AND WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE? DO YOU LIVE A ANGELIC PRISTINE LIFE YOURSELF? ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE THEM! P.S FLYING IN FROM MICHIGAN TO SEE THEM IN VEGAS TWO TIMES SO TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!!! FROM A LONG TIME MOTLEY CRUE FAN TO OBVIOUSLY A JUDGEMENTAL GROUP OF PEOPLE THAT NEED TO NOT POST IF THEY DONT HAVE SOMETHING GOOD TO SAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROCK ON MOTLEY SEE YOU ON THE 14TH AND 15TH
Well, I've been a Crue fan for as long as I can remember. At first, this seemed kind of odd; I mean when I think of a Vegas house act, I think of guys like wayne newton. Anyway, if this works for both the band & it's fans, I say good luck, & have a great time. I know people don't like this band, & will probably have a few jokes to throw around... but I don't care. Besides, I can just imagine what the bean-bag lickers at blabbermouth are typing over this! BM really is troll country...
I was thinking it was a celine dion type deal, play at the same venue 4 nights a week for a year or two but two weeks?
But i agree they fit the vegas party type mold, idk if thats good news for vince neal, that guy is always getting in trouble in vegas...
Lets see if he can make that 2 week run without getting arrested or threatening anyone..
