Machine Head Guitarist Phil Demmel Struck By Flying Shoe At Brussels Gig
Band Photo: Machine Head (?)
During a performance of Machine Head's classic track "Davidian" at a recent show in Brussels, guitarist Phil Demmel became yet another victim of an unidentified heckler wielding an airborne missile - in this case, a shoe. Demmel promptly exited the stage following the incident, while his bandmates played on as a three-piece.
Demmel (and, oddly, bassist Adam Duce) remained conspicuously absent for the bow at the conclusion of the band's set.

I can see both sides of this situation - why play on when some douchebag throws a shoe at ya, but conversely, why ruin the show for the rest of your fans just because one douchebag threw a shoe.
At least it was the last song, wonder what he woulda done if it was near the middle.
What a b****! it's just a shoe. I remember watching Bodom a couple years back and Alexi got hit right in the face with a bottle of soda right in the middle of a solo and didn't even miss a note, then laughed about it between songs and played the rest of the set.
This reminds me of the GW Bush press conference when that camel jockey threw that shoe during one of bushes stops in iraq...
U got idiots all over the globe, they go to the show all juiced up on whatever and act like jerks by either getting into fights or throwing stuff or running on stage...
Its sad yet its part of todays society...no f@ckin class
I would probably throw a shoe too. But what a p***y, or prima donna however you want to call it. I can't imagine if it was a water bottle....WITH A HARD PLASTIC LID.
He might of left the band. Maybe then they could all leave the band... alas, I am just dreaming.
